Also, this thread is titled "New Positions"! I mean, what's a reverse cowgirl anyway?

And a large portion of the GMs in this league are also in the very active basketball sim leagues Aaron is talking about (like 10 other guys)... so the whole active posting/rewards idea wouldn't be anything new.

For posting 200 times you should not get a 5 point fan increase. I say that is a lot.
I would say if you post 200 times and write two solid articles that would be worthy of something like a 5 point fan increase.
You post 200 times with out articles 3 point fan increase
Say you post 100 times only maybe you get a 2 point fan increase.
Post 50 times you get a 1 point fan increase
something to consider.

Of course we should put in a activity reward system, to get this league going. That is how you keep a league strong and running for awhile. You actually have to make the GMs interested. People need to want to join, stay around and post. That is what makes a league fun and interesting to be in. We should try to come up with something and put it in place.
As for the other ideas, they are all great. I don't care who hires anyone, just hire active people that will look after there teams and get rid of some of these bums that are inactive.
The league is pretty advertised well through out, but we can update old posts.
New Simmer? Go for it steve if you want to. I think he should be added for that extra day and any other days they need help simming.

This is getting a little ridiculous. Sims at midnight were bad enough, but now we pass through the sim night completely without a word? Both Bob and Josh have been on multiple times this morning. Maybe they're busy with work right now. Okay then, leave a quick post..."Hey guys, sorry for the delay in the sim, I'm overloaded with work, I'll do the sim at X:XX." Or maybe an acknowledgement last night that they were indeed alive.

Gentleman.......
I will running last night's sim this afternoon.
Also, effective at season's end, I will be re-signing my position as Co-Commissioner of the BBSBL as well as General Manager of the Washington Nationals. Recently, I've been bogged down with major responsibility at work. And, because of that, it has significantly kept me from performing to the best of my abilities both as a General Manager, and more importantly, the Commissioner of this league. Thankfully, though extremely busy himself, Josh has been keeping things moving at a relatively smooth pace during my spotty appearances.
I do apologize to everyone for the lack of organization as of late. I'm normally a very organized person, and always take pride in continuing that trend with everything I participate in. For whatever reason, I've let it get away from me.
I will finish out the 2007 campaign and then pass the reigns along to someone else with more time than myself or Josh. I know talking to Josh this morning, he will most likely be stepping aside as season's end as well, however, I don't want to speak for him. I'll let him announce his decision on his own.
It's been a pleasure, boys. Best of luck. I think you have a good thing going here. I'm happy I could be a part of it.

Ok. As long as you guys can handle over the file and somebody can show Steve the ropes of simming and uploading, we should be fine. Thanks for stepping up in the first place, and sorry it's not working out.
I'd ask, however, that you at least consider staying on board as a GM. You were a good GM before the simming responsibilities; maybe you could stay on board? Same goes for Josh. If we can get a new simmer, we're fine, but it'd suck to lose two active GMs.

Thanks for stepping up when the league was ready to fold Bob. Like Aaron said, i wish you could stay as a GM and continue to check in every once in a while.
Also, someone could show Steve the ropes, that would be great. I think steve will do a great job if he wants to be commish or find someone to co-commish with him next season.

Bob. I think we all were extremely pleased with the way you and Josh stepped in, took over the league, and sent it in a new direction. Things were looking wonderful. But you two are working men, and that is obviously more important than a sim league. We are certainly grateful for you saving the league, but now you just don't have the time to devote to it like you used to.
You are a fantastic GM, though. Please stay on with the Nats, it doesn't take as much time as being commish. We don't need to lose a good GM as well as a commissioner.

Yes like those above me, you and Josh should at least consider hanging around as GMs. It would be shame to lose two commissioners and two adept GMs. But if you guys do plan on leaving one/both roles for good, someone should at least help and teach Steve the basics of simming.

Well sucks to see this happen, lose two good gms and commishs in the same season but shit happens and I think we all knew it was bound to. But we are all thankful these two guys stepped up and kept the league going. It has been good.
I think though before they leave, maybe they should start now, teaching Steve/Matt/Whoever, the ways of simming, uploading, updating the website, etc. Just to get the basics and stuff so he can understand what to do. IMO it should start to happen now so when this season is over the simmer has an idea of what to do. Then as time goes on he can learn the ways, and figure shit out for himself.
There are a few gms who know the game well to that could help out, like yankees gm, spence i think, maybe some others.

I think it says a whole bunch when you guys all go above the commish's heads and fire a GM and hire a new one. Thought that was why we had guys in charge? The only GM that was fired and hired w/o the commissioners approval was Cleveland. Vernon has not logged on in over a month and his franshicse is tanking... so the sooner he was replaced the better. Josh or Bob have been logged in the past few days and yet did not respond to the waiting list. So instead of waiting around for something to happen, some of the GMs did something about it and now we have an active owner. Regarding the rewards for posts...I was just throwing the idea out there for discussion. I am in favor of it b/c I believe it would facilitate more activity and add another positive element to the league. It doesn't have to be fan interest that is rewarded. It could be small cash ($50,000?) or other things as well. Like I previously mentioned, getting rewarded for posting is not cheap gimmick that the frequent posting GMs want for their own benefit. In other sim leagues it is a vital component that takes it beyond being a pure sim. If you are opposed to it, that's fine, you are entitled to your own opinion. That is why we are discussing it. But it is tireing seeing the same 15 GMs posting all the time, while the remaining 15 seem to be out of the affairs of the rest of the league. I think during the off season the whole league should make a consensus on issues such as this and other matters (broadcasting revenue, luxury tax, stadium construction...).

What a surprise, Matt has a problem with guys giving a shit about the league. What a tired act. We're trying to get things going. Why does it matter that we took the interest to replace a GM who didn't even check the league?

I think it says a whole bunch when you guys all go above the commish's heads and fire a GM and hire a new one. Thought that was why we had guys in charge? Whats your problem? You got a problem with everything people suggest and always have a fucking dick attitude. People are suggesting things for the better of the league and you have a problem with that? Come on man. So what if you post a lot and get rewarded, what is the problem with that? Is it our problem if you can not post a lot? People should be rewarded for being active and posting, it is great for the league. Instead you will go days on end with no one posting in weeks and nothing being talked about on the forums. What is the fun in that? Why join a sim league then? Are these forums not for conversation, arguments, discussions! So what some one finally took an initiative and fired a gm, and hired a new one... When would this have happened? When would the commishs have done this? They both seem to be heading out in the off season, so why not get some guys in here to get ready for the off season and start building their teams. The guys in charge are losing interest and are busy, so other gms are stepping up.

this would work if people actually got rewarded for this stuff. It has been rewarded in the offseason to the best of my knowledge...when it's supposed to. Unless of course it's during the season when they take care of it every few sims. I do not think anything has been rewarded to teams for the past two seasons.

Are these forums not for conversation, arguments, discussions! Attitude? Don't think I have one...arguing with you guys about this crap is the farthest thing from giving me an attitude..my job is dealing with mouthy teenagers in class everyday, I'm used to that part of it. Why do I join a sim league? To give myself something to do in my spare time and see how well I can run a franchise myself..the whole purpose of this. If I wanted to post on something for conversations, etc, I'd just go to some other message board and post on all that crap. I just don't see the point in rewarding someone for posting so much. I export every sim and am active, why don't I get a reward for that? Posting doesn't show activity, exporting does. You have an attitude with every post that deals with something about the league. It is clear in all your remarks, you have an attitude when people are trying to take charge and get some things done around here. Sim leagues are suppose to be about managing a team yes, but they are also suppose to be about the forum and the community within the league. Posting about all sorts of things and talking about their sim! Some people do not even do that! I would say most do not even do that. What is the point in just running a team then when their is no conversation about it? Posting shows activity, it shows you care about the league and your team and you take enough time in your day to post on the forums. If everyone just exported their teams and their was no conversation I would leave. What is the point in that? Their is nothing going on, nothing worth while. It is like playing video games vs the computer. When you talk on the forums you get rivalries, you get to know these people and all that other shit. People should be rewarded for posting so this league can become a more well rounded league. I would think most agree with that. Some sort of cash reward is not that big of a deal for posting 200 in a season.

I do not think anything has been rewarded to teams for the past two seasons. So how about pointing things out then instead of 2 seasons down the road? you kidding right? Go back on all the sim league days, how many people have asked if these will be put in...If their player of the weeks will be done. If their cash will be rewarded. Going to an all star game, pitching a perfect game. How many times have we asked and received nothing? I really do not want to go through them all and bring them all up but they are there.

OK. I'll quit exporting, but post all the time. The point is to do both. When some do not even do either of them. Fine you can just export, but you will not get the benefit of the posting and receiving the rewards. But if you post as well you get rewarded and help your team. what is the problem? The only problem I see is you.
