I'm posting this deal now, but it's going to be done at the end of the season, essentially the second after the finals.
Phoenix trades: Phoenix 02 First Portland 07 First Wally
for
JJ 2 Upgrades next year
The stipulation, CC cannot change his roster unless I ok a deal. The reason I put this in, I do not want to trade away a franchise type talent and have him go out and deal all his picks for nice players, which makes this pick shit.
Though this trade essentially gives me a wild card, I feel having Minny and Phx picks give me a legit chance at grabbing a 1/2 pick. If it doesn't land top 2, I'm shit out of luck with picks 3 and on, but I like taking chances, so what the hell. The Portland pick gives me a bit compensation, in case something like that happens.
It's obvious why CC does this, as he gets his franchise type talent, guaranteed.
Thanks for the easy deal, took us about 10 minutes to come up with it. Now start getting your ass kicked.

Wow.
Not only does he deal his pick but he can't even improve his current team?
Wow.
Joe Johnson is in no way better then someone like Amare or Yao.

The fact that he has to get permission to make deals is weak( i really dont see how this part should be allowed since it allows one GM to run two teams )...

i dunno, i'm not gonna be the guy to start the "he did it again" shit here. let's review what the worst-case scenerio is here...
joe johnson+2 upgrades for amare stoudemire + future 1st + filler
i mean certainly it's not the best deal in the world and trading his first away is not a good idea. at the same time if JJ is upgraded wisely by cc then it could be ok - especially considering that the pick could easily end up being 3rd or 4th overall as the lottery is just all about luck.
i think both teams are taking uncontrolled risks and i really can't say it's good for either side. but the bottom line is CC is the only one guaranteed to get a star it seems.

this is such a terrible fuckin deal. why dont you just sign and package yao or amare to aaron? and for JOE JOHNSON of all players. this is bogus man. and not only that, he has u pretty much by the balls for the rest of the season cause u cant make a trade unless he says its ok. oh my fuckin god.

wasnt there some policy for new gms? Like some probation period where their deals are watched closely until they prove they know what they are doing? What happened to that?

spencer you cant let this deal go through. as good as a gm as reilley is, this is taking shit way too far.

I understand that thing about the lotto being a big risk but I would rather take that risk then do a deal like this.

and i wanna add that i think you guys are under rating joe johnson big time and that i'd rather have him than yao ming for sure. if the pick doesn't end up being amare then the suns are going to have the better of this deal.
the only real problem i have with it is that the pick was worth so much more than this as far as what the league would have given up for it. just a poor choice in that respect.

You'd take JJ over a rookie C with these ratings:
B- C- D+ B C+ A
Really?

sorta like the mets trading scott kazmir for victor zambrano... the worst part wasnt that they traded him, but that they traded him for VICTOR ZAMBRANO!

I see what you are saying about JJ, Duce. But the matter is that Joe Johnson is nowhere near what he is gonna be right now. At best he will average 20-22 points a game on such a bad team. This team is still going to be very bad and for a team that gave up so much to get his own pick back with the same pistons i have to say, is just flabergasting to me.

and not only that, CC cant make any deals unless Aaron says so. I got a new nickname for CC, its son. because he cant make any deals unless his daddy, aaron says its ok.

You'd take JJ over a rookie C with these ratings: B- C- D+ B C+ A Really? well for starters, neither yao or amare have actually declared. but imo i just don't see yao having the athletic skills or the rebounding that i consider ideal in a big man. he'll be very good no doubt though. as for joe johnson, i mean he was definitely "made" by spencer well after he was averaging 25-4-4. i think you can at least make the argument that he's going to be very nice and comparable to amare/yao - and versitile for that matter. you guys don't have to agree with it, i just don't think this is awful. there are obvious parts of the deal that make CC look like a tool but whatever, it's not my call.
