Oh and the league is stronger then ever, and arguably more active then any sim is even after 7 or 8 months of the restart. Its pretty ridiculous.

Seems like huge booms of activity revolve around some pig related controversy,

and anyway i didn't mean to come off as a whiner... i was just voicing my view of it...
people took what i said about DJ to be a blatant insult but i was actually trying to say that i don't think DJ was trying to "cheat the system", his team just simply couldn't win... there was a delay period in his team's growth. i thought for sure he'd understand why that would make the rule too harsh.
bottom line though, i just have a lot of sympathy for teams who try to win and just don't succeed. i fully understand the motive of "forcing teams to win" in order to scare them from tanking. but i just think at some point you penalize the people who really try, too much

Duce, sometimes I feel like no one listens to you at home, so you come on the BBS forum and just start typing. I end up reading like the first sentence and then ignoring what you say.

if a team is trying to win, and can't make the playoffs... and you take a "year" away from their rebuilding just to punish potential tankers, it can ruin it for people who are seriously rebuilding and not trying to be douchebags.
that rule is just an example. i felt like it was potential punishment against a realistic scenario... and is too far. i hope no good gm's get kicked out but i'm sure it's under control somehow.

First off, no one has been kicked out unfairly yet, so I think its a bit presumptuous to fear someone getting kicked out unfairly. Please trust that I have the best interest of the sim in mind.

No one has ever been fired for tanking/lack of winning, so until it actually happens, there is really nothing to get excited over.
And the rule isnt that a team must make the playoffs by a certain date, its that teams need to show some improvement from year to year.

well i do, it's just that i thought something like what pig did might happen. he basically scrapped his rebuilding plan out of fear imo. maybe that is part of the intent(to scare people into winning) but still...
anyway, i'm not flipping out or anything, even tho my essay-rants make it seem that way.

He didnt have to make any deals at this point... we still have FA and then the first half of the season. If his team showed improvement, won more games and at least competed for a playoff spot... then he would have been fine.

Well, Pig did this deal out of spite. He does this quite often. Hes what you might call, hot-headed. Hes the Stephen Jackson of the BBS.
On that note....

How did he scrap it though? He got a young pg back... who could be just as good as Ford.. plus he got a stud vet in webber. He gave up picks... but ones that are 2-3 years down the line. He definitely needs to be competing for a playoff spot by then anyways.
