I didn't pick Rudy, but I'm curious for the reason. he has absolutely no foreign experience. His personal life is a frickin' mess. Yes, I do realize we are all human and we all have our problems but his life is just ridiculously messed up, I don't want a President like that in office. He's just a better-speak George Bush puppet. Not just that anyone who makes comments like these "If a Democrat is elected president in 2008, America will be at risk for another terrorist attack on the scale of Sept. 11, 2001... Never ever again will this country ever be on defense waiting for (terrorists) to attack us if I have anything to say about it. And make no mistake, the Democrats want to put us back on defense!" is a fucking tool. I am not a Democrat or Republican or whatever. I am independent and I vote for the best candidate... he is not the best Republican candidate...

I like Barack and Hilary.
Defiantly don't want McCain however I have a lot of respect for him.
I'm just happy that there seems to be better canidates than the last election this time around.

I need to learn about the candidates. I never paid much attention to politics, but it's time I start.

Personally I wouldn't mind Fred Thompson. I use to hate Mitt Romney for the mormon factor but now hes starting to become my favorite candidate.

chris who did u vote for? Personally, I really don't have a "favorite" candidate this year. Anyone but Clinton and Giuliani will do me fine though.

The main reason that I like Guliani the most is that our country needs alot of problems solved. The only candidate available to us that has a proven track record of solving problems is Rudy Guliani. We dont need nationalized healthcare, higher taxes and more programs funded by the government. We need results. Rudy gets things done.

By which I mean, that is just a bit vague. You have to take into account policy, and the direction of the country. Rudy is a whore. He's not even close to conservative social, but he'll pose like he is, and he'll take credit for uniting the city during 9/11...but what does that even mean? I'm not going to vote for a guy just because he'll unite the country after a terrorist attack. Vote for the candidate whose policies you agree with and who has the right plan for the direction of our country; not the candidate who will get results by being a stubborn bully. That's Rudy's method of getting things done.

I'm waiting for Bloomberg to declare, whether as president or as a vice-president. He's probably the most impressive person ever.
As for his policy:
Pro-choice - while I don't think abortion should be something that should be abused, I believe it should definitely be an option for women.
Very education oriented - Test scores have been increasing while he has been mayor, and he has increased teachers salaries
Pro-environment - I'm not a tree-hugger, but his strides to improve air quality, living conditions, etc. in New York City and other states has been admirable. In addition to environment, he has banned all transfats in NYC restaurants, and has banned smoking in all commercial establishments.
Homeland Security - He is pro Patriot Act, which I don't understand why ANYBODY but terrorists would be against.
Taxes - Fiscally conservative... very pro business. Managed to eliminate the $6 billion deficit NYC had before he came into office.
Personally - So rich, he could wipe his ass and blow his nose with $100 bills. Uber-philanthropist, donates loads of his money to charitable causes and institutions. Ranked #7th most philanthropic American.

Rudy did reshape the cities image though from the Crack Epidemic from the early 90's and cut down crime a shit load.

I hate moderate candidates to be quite frank, I think there pretty fake. I would rather have a far left president in office then somebody who is a "tweener" just because they want to get votes. You need to pick a side either Right or Left, IMO.

You need to pick a side either Right or Left, IMO. I think a moderate republican is the best type of candidate... conservative foreign and economic policies, with liberal social policies. The guy can fund his own campaign, which is extremely helpful. He originally was a democrat, switched sides to a republican, and now he is an independent. I have no problem with that at all. "New York City voters approve 70 - 21 percent of the job Bloomberg is doing, with similar numbers among Republicans, Democrats and independent voters, and among blacks, whites and Hispanics."
