He really dislikes mediocre teams, and in his view they are mediocre. hes a funny guy, but hes a horrible analyst. Hes a basketball snob. He looks bored up there on the stage for the most part, then he makes some rude obnoxious comments and everyone laughs. Hes the shock jock of the NBA.

i dunno, i'm pretty sure some warriors fans did something to instigate it but i wasn't looking. charles was like.. "that's it i'm rooting for dallas".
but i agree, just sayin that was an isolated type of thing.

Hes been talking smack the whole series. Whatever, if anything it was more motivation for the Warriors,a nd it just shows how much time and effort Chuck puts into studying these matchups.

I don't think Barkley was the only one who said Golden State wasn't going to win this series. How is he a bad analyst for saying what the majority has said?

Is'nt Phx. the matchup in 2nd rd if they do advance? Now that should be a fun series to watch.

I watched the last 5 minutes of the game last night, and it was really the first time I've watched a Golden State game this year. I must say that I was impressed by them. Their pace is a bit hectic and seems a bit out of control, but they have the guys that can actually play well that way. Dallas just seemed uncomfortable on offense, especially when Golden State played that match-up zone. For as young as they were, the Warriors showed a lot of poise in that final minute last night. The only time it looked like they faltered was probably when Barnes tried to force an inside pass on the fast break, which ended up resulting in a kick anyways. I think Dallas will have their hands full to win these last three games. A Golden State-San Antonio matchup will be interesting because I'm not sure how the Warriors will defend a true post presence like Duncan.

Yea, but Phx will be best team left and GS is 8th seed. Did'nt they start the reseeding after each rd this yr to prevent top seeded teams playing each other so early?
Also, a radio guy here in Dallas has a good point. Everyone one is blaming Dirk for not playing down low but besides Harris who on the Mavs is driving? Terry and Howard both can finish at the rim but both are settling for jumpshots and since GS is playing them so close on perimeter they have to drive. Especially since GS doesnt really have a shotblocker like TD back there.

weird i thought it was 1/8 v 4/5... so it would be warriors vs rockets/jazz, tho if they're really gonna re-seed teams after round 1 - which is gay - then i guess it would be the suns and warriors.
that logic just makes no sense to me cuz theoretically the #8 team would have to go through the #1, #2/3 and #3/4/5/6... potentially having to play the best 3 teams in the conference to get to the finals. that's insane.

I don't think Barkley was the only one who said Golden State wasn't going to win this series. How is he a bad analyst for saying what the majority has said? Its not that, its the amount of effort he puts into what he says. I dont think he actually studies his info before he starts talking. he goes to a BBQ, he eats like 3 hamburgers then he comes in and hes just tired and wants the show to be over. Other guys will actually do research, and try and learn about a team, or a matchup instead of being , "theyre midgets, and they take bad shots".

I agree. I rarely watch the post game and halftime shows. Barkley just talks like a guy sitting on the couch without really giving anything insightful I think. I think Kenny tries but Charles shouts down anyone that tries to make a point pretty much. He gets on my nerves.

I think that the matchups are still 1/8 vs. 4/5 and 2/7 vs. 3/6. I know that they've said that the East is already set with #1 Detroit vs. #5 Chicago. Since New Jersey is up 3-1 in their series against #3 Toronto, if they would reset, then they wouldn't have said that the Detroit matchup was set. However, ESPN could be wrong and maybe the 1-5 matchup isn't actually set yet.

This is pretty funny, from an article on the Barkley - Warrior situation....
For his part, Barkley says a trip back here is unlikely. They're stuck doing the games on the East Coast. But don't worry, he knows this is the home of passionate basketball fans.
"I learned that when I was playing,'' he said Monday night. "Because even when they sucked, the fans were still loud and obnoxious. I can't imagine how loud and obnoxious they are now that they are winning.''
