Wow. Glad we move ahead in the schedule without making sure everyone is ready. Just cost me at least 3 guys I'd guess. Maybe 4 or 5.
Oh well, shitty season in STL this season.

Its one thing to speed up the process when we are waiting on guys who aren't really active. Cardsgm is one of the most active people here along with myself and its sucks when we get fucked over like this.

it doesnt take long to get FA exports in. the majority of the league wanted a speed up, josh said we would have another one today. deal with it. no need to get snippy.

Oh nice the majority of the league is 6 people? Great. We are dealing with it but what it comes down to is that i wanted to sign some guys to help out my bullpen especially Stewart and i wasn't able to make an offer. Two of the leagues most active gms got screwed over. Plain and simple. We'll deal with it but it just isn't fair.

And I have no problems speeding things up at all. I get kind of antsy too. But FA day 1 was yesterday..I was gone all day to a friends birthday, got back drained from standing in the sun all day....get up this morning, go to church, out to lunch and I finally get a chance to get back on here and check everything. And I get my export in just in time to see that Day 2 has been done and I wasted my time looking at things because 6 of the guys I offered signed. Am I whining, I"m sure some of you will say yes. My minor leagues is crap, outside of about 4 guys I have plans for and want to keep, which means trading is hard to do so I planned on making a huge splash in FA this year to help solidify my staff, which has been my problem since the league started. Oh well, guess we'll get to see what Rick Ankiel can do in my rotation this year.

And I don't want Bob to think I'm pissed at him....because i know he was doing what he thought was best for the league and speeding things up, which again I have no problems in the world with.

"The majority of the league" Steve isn't 6 people that posted on that thread. 6 out of 30 is not the majority.

I dunno, last year we simmed days 1 and 2 in the same day because of the lack of day 1 signings. Were your bids not in for day 1 or something? I expected this like I'm sure many others did. Sucks, but what can you do. I sent mine to Nanz for Day 2 and mine didn't get in, but I'll deal with it.

It sucks, maybe they should have waited till tonight to see where everyone stands and then sim, 2 and 3. But what are you going to do now, we can not go back. It is just an unfortunate situation. Get your day 3 bids in is all u can do.

Yeah i dont have a problem with it starting later but once it gets started i think we should do it quicker. Maybe we could sim everyday just for the offseason? I dont know just an idea Be careful what you wish for, cause you just might get it. There are many more where that came from, in addition to the ones that posted in response to my FA Day 2? thread. Aaron is exactly right - last year there were 2 signings day 1, and people were clamoring for day 2 to be simmed immediately. Well this year we had 3 signings day 1. Could have done the same thing as last year, and the result would be no different than it is now. The bottom line is we thought we were doing what the vast majority of the league wanted (and had asked for). We posted a schedule that fit into our life. Many owners come saying it's a little slow and they wished it could go faster. Bob even posted that it was tentative and could be sped up, so there was prior warning. We post our schedule and while it was OK, most were "suggesting" it should go faster. So we make it faster, now we're going to get backlash for doing so. Make a change to try to make people happy, and then comes more scrutiny. We simply did what we thought would make the league happy - we were not blatantly trying to harm anyone. Perhaps Bob would not be available tonight and that is why he simmed when he did. The bottom line is we try to do what is best for the league, and what the majority wants. Admittently, it may have been a little quick, however it is not something we can re-do (if we did, there would be complaints from those who signed guys that may not happen that way again). Bob and I are evaluating the potential damage, and we are discussing it as well as possible solutions. We will work with you to try and do what is best. HOWEVER, if we are attacked it will not make me want to run and do extra work in an attempt to make you happy. Simply stating your case as an adult will suffice just fine.

And I missed out on at least 2 guys last year when Day 1 and 2 were done so quickly. Again, 2 SP....and 4 of the P who signed today I think I had better offers in on, but again we all know money doesn't matter because of the DiceK situation last year.
I'm all for speeding things up, but I think FA is the one part that we shouldn't get in a big hurry for...especially because of the way our FA is setup only being 5 days instead of the usual 30.

Yeah Josh i did post that but did i get a response ? No, I did not. Nobody is attacking you so relax. We are just expressing some frustration on not being able to sign the guys we wanted in key areas. At least i know that for my team the bullpen is the reason why we did not make it to the playoffs. So just relax, a nice simple apology would be nice and that would be the end of it.

I understand why you guys are angry. And I didn't mean the majority of the league posted, it just feels like the majority of the league wanted the process to go quicker and Bob tried to do that. I agree, I thought it was going to come tonight and it should have. But if there's one thing we know its that Bob and Josh are busy. I bet if Bob would have waited until tomorrow a few guys would have complained. It sucks you didn't get the guys you wanted, I know. And I apologize for getting a little snippy myself.

The majority of the league might not have posted in the thread earlier asking if we should or should not sim day 2, but the majority of the league has posted recently asking to have the league sped up. It was sped up. Losing out on someone that you wanted sucks, but it is going to happen if we speed up (and speeding up is best for the league). The fact that two active GMs missed out on players sucks, but their activity is also irrelevant to me. Aaron made the perfect point. Did you guys not export for Day 1? Absolutely nothing changed, because pretty much no one got signed. If there was a minor change, then that sucks, but I'm pretty sure there weren't any signings that damaged anyone's FA money to the point where they'd have to severely edit their bids for day 2.
Bob and Josh have absolutely no reason to apologize. To ask them to is pretty ridiculous, IMO. They take a lot of shit about the speed of the league (or lack thereof), so no, they shouldn't have to say a word about this. They should be thanked, honestly. It sucks to lose out on guys you wanted, but it happens.
What could potentially alter my opinion on this for both STL and ARZ is what were you guys doing with Day 1? Did you not have bids in, and were waiting for Day 2? Did you have bids in and wanted to adjust them? Did you miss the whole thing? What's the deal.

Did my bids change? Sure they did...I had an offer in on David Ortiz that took up some of my money. Once he signed with NYY, that opened up 11 mil or so of my FA money to spend. That's where bids for 2 of the P I put in for Day 2 (late) that took that 11 mil from Day 1. I'd say that's a pretty severe edit on my bids from Day 1. Again, it's over, I'm done....I missed the sim..oh well. I'll survive and find help elsewhere.
