Congratulations to me, I'm cool, to Matt for winning the NL central, and to Spencer and CSC for winning wild card spots. There was a playoff between Colorado and L.A to decide the division winner on September 29th. I simmed it because the loser would be in the playoffs still. I have to figure something out in the future in case the loser figures to be kicked out. Any thoughts? www.sdogbbs.com/BBSBL/index.htmlwww.sdogbbs.com/BBSBL/box.htmlwww.sdogbbs.com/BBSBL/lnews.htmlwww.sdogbbs.com/BBSBL/linj.htmlwww.sdogbbs.com/BBSBL/leaders1.htmlwww.sdogbbs.com/BBSBL/leaders2.htmlwww.sdogbbs.com/BBSBL/powerrankings.htmlReds' Ken Griffey Jr. hits home run #500. It's odd that there's no "can't face your division in round 1" rule. Good luck to the Yankees though, I really look forward to seeing the result of this series.

Really a lot of positives after our first season. I think I have a legit cornerstone hitter in Todd Sears, and a lot of middle of the order talent to surround him with. Jacque Jones was amazing until he got fatigued. No doubt could've been over .500 if I brought up some of the guys who were capable of contributing, and if I stopped giving Lackey so many starts. But Lackey was great as the year ended.
Really excited about my pitching staff. I know the offense will be insane in 2-3 years, and to see the year Aaron Cook had at 24 is really impressive. Mays was brilliant all year, especially second half, and Lackey came into his own. I have some good looking arms in the minors in Tyler, Durbin, Sporbz (whatever, I honestly never remember his name) and Baker, and while I don't have an ace, Lackey, Mays and Cook all looked like front of the rotation guys.
Mauer raked in AA, really a great sign. Teixeira probably could've been an ML All-Star this year. He and Morneau definitely are coming up next season. Want to see this team make some strides and contend.

Not that he was in our future plans, but Jared Sandberg suffered a career ending injury on like the 5th-to-last day of the season.

The K is rockin, the team is winning, what else could be greater for the Royals.
How about a sweep in the playoffs?
I have a secret weapon ready for those A's.

Id think any playoff should be simmed separately. I would've liked to have a chance to set my rotation up for a playoff game. Division titles are cool.

You know, I really just didn't want to confuse everybody by making a whole separate upload. If you were online at the time I would have PMd you about it. Sorry about that, but I just did what I thought was best for the league at the time, but I do agree with you.

also, if the loser was going to miss the post-season all together, i would have completely delayed the sim until it was resolved.
i'll have to work out a system for next year in case this happens again.

I'm also happy with what I saw from this team this year. I have 2 young SP who showed that they can be unhittable from time to time. Xavier Nady and Sean Burroughs were our 2 best players in the last 2 months of the season. Our Minors have vastly improved through all of the trades I made and we turned a 13mil profit which gives us a lot of money to try and fill some holes through FA. I think we can be a playoff contender next year.

Great year for the Rockies. Not only did we win 96 games and come within a game of the division crown, we did it while in sell mode. We dumped most of our big time contracts and dropped salary down to 33 mill by the end of the year. Our revenue should double our payroll which means that financially we are way ahead of the game.
Our system is bare, but in the last month I brought up 3 young hitters, and they all flourished despite mediocre ratings.
Jack Cust, Chris Snelling, and Rene Reyes look like guys that can perform at a high level for me for years to come. Combine that with Aubrey Huff, Bobby Kielty, Milton Braldey and Placido Polanco and the Rockies offense will be scary for awhile.
The pitching was good enough all year, but I plan on improving that area via FA. The bright spots? Odalis Perez is an ace. 17-9 and 250 IP is awesome. Padilla was a disappointment, but I have high hopes for him. I do need to add a closer and 2 SP by next year if I want to continue to contend.
Bring on the Braves!

congrats to spencer on a good year as well. the NL west was pretty tough this year but at least we pulled it out. Now on to the cards who we wont match up well with and now we have Schilling out at least for this series. it will be interesting

3-4. Not that impressive last sim, but some great signs through out the year. At least we finished with a nice victory over texas i believe. 8-0. Roy Smith, 4th or 5th starter, young, could be with us for awhile, showed some great performances this year. 9-5 3.14 era around 117 ks in 27 starts. He is very good.
Anyway, I love the production this season out of Darin Erstad, Christian Guzman, Brad Fullmer, DaVanon, to name a few. I hope to keep some of them when I build up with the farm system. Pitching was what kept me out of the playoffs or at least some chance at it. Harang looks like he could be solid, needs to work on his endurance and command. K-rod 35 saves 1.80 era, great year. Robb Quinlan had a nice little month coming up from the minors, Cuddyer looks like he could have a good future ahead of him, Ken Harvey great of the bench, deep threat.
In a few seasons we are going to have a great pitching staff, Santana, Jenks, Segovia, Lester, Nelson, and thats just the start. Are hitting looks like it will be there too, Francoeur, Hanley, McCann, Youk, Dallas,Boyd, Kotchman, some names there, cant wait too see what these guys can do in the future. good luck everyone.

6-2. outstanding pitching all the way. the hitters were off and on but i don't care, the pitching is coming at a perfect time. very happy with that, especially with a higher level of competition coming up.

It was a real nice season. Any time a team can win over 100 games, that is very good obviously. I never had a single crucial injury and I know that's a big deal because I look around the league and it's cost a lot of teams a lot of wins.
I was able to trade and draft to get players that fit my liking. The infield is great defensively and has been a great help to my ground ball pitchers. The bullpen has really been a great part of this team. And I'm just really feeling the future, even though I'll have to let some guys go this off-season.
Going into the playoffs, I've got a feared line-up 1-9 and a handful of pitchers I feel are very reliable. I really can't ask for much more than that.
Heck truthfully half the time my mind is mainly on pressing the sim button without the game exploding lol. But nonetheless an impressive year.

Overall happy with the year. Carpenter didn't come back how I wanted, but he's still my #2 for the first round of playoffs, so we'll see how it goes. Catch a lucky break with Schilling out for a week....hopefully we can survive and beat LA.

92 wins, not bad but just a tough dang division. Looking forward to FA although I might lose my starting SS.
