We're playing quite well right now. Our hitting is doing real well, but our starting pitching is still awful. I expected that though, so a 7-5 record is very surprising. Our good young pitchers are about 2-3 years from being MLB ready though, so it's just a bit of a long haul until I can get those guys up. Real excited about the offensive pieces we have...Boone, Jimenez, Casey, Pierre, Guillen, and Griffey who's struggling right now.

6-0!
swept both division rivals texas and LAA
Game 1 vs Texas: W 3-2. Texas held me to 2 hits, went 10 innings, Encarnacion knocked in the winning run.
Game 2 vs Texas: W 10-6. We knocked Johan around pretty nice 6 ER in 6 IP, Hudson recovered well with a nice start, but Foulke blew the save. Game went 10 innings again, and again, Encarnacion was the hero with a Grand Slam to win it in the 10th!
Game 3 vs Texas: W 12-1. Pavano with another great start, 8.2 IP 1 ER. Garret Anderson and Mike Cameron, each went yard TWICE!
Game 1 vs LAA: W 11-4. Miguel Tejada hit 3 HR'S!!!! Cameron had his 2nd straight game with 2 HR'S! Zito went the distance, nice win.
Game 2 vs LAA: W 6-2. Halama another awesome outing. 8 IP, 1 ER.
Game 3 vs LAA: W 5-2. Mulder had a good outing, the usual.
great stuff this sim overall.

3-3.
We swept the Mariners
We got swept by the A's. DaVanon 5 hrs 14 rbis 310 average DaVanon is on fire. First game vs Mariners he went 2-4 a double and a triple 4 rbis. Callaway was great, 7.2 innings pitch with 6 KS. Krod closed it out. Adam Kennedy, Guzman, Hunter, all are hot and hitting the ball well. Hunter hit 3 hrs this week and has 7 rbis. Dye is starting to pick up the power too, betling out a couple.
Glaus hit a couple as well, avg needs to start to rise though in the ones.
Starting pitching really surprised me. Great Starts from Callaway, Appier, and Harang this sim. Washburn was amazing, guy is great.
Washburn vs Sea- 9 innings 9 ks, 1 BB, 3 ER.
Aaron Harang- 6.2 innings, 5 ks, 5 walks (needs to go down), 1 ER. Great, what i want to see from the yongster. K-rod 4 saves on the year pitching great.
In the minors, guys are really stepping up. Cuddyer and Harvey are hitting the shit out of the ball.

Nats: 6-6 & 2.5 GB
A solid 4-2 sim. Won two of three from the Cubs & Mets.
J. Vidro & B. Wilkerson continue to hit under the Mendoza Line.
V. Guerrero is no savior with his .227 AVG either.
As such... we rank 26th in runs scored.
J. Vazquez & T. Armas Jr. have both started well...
But the rest of the rotation each has an ERA of over 5.
With that in mind... being at .500 is a pleasant shock.
And further... N. Hall had excellent PD and is now our best hitting spect...

4-2. Took 2/3 from Baltimore and 2/3 from Toronto.
Had some pretty shaky pitching the whole way, aside from Pedro. Lowe is nice but he's a bit inconsistent to say the least. I need to improve in this area big time. The bullpen is doing a heck of a job. I'll say that much, especially Percival.
Offensively it was as expected. Team is striking out too much but I'll live. The whole putting the ball in play, getting on base, getting extra base hits thing is all that I could ever ask for. I stopped trying to force the issue with my strategy and that helped.
Oakland caught fire. I really have to hope nobody in the west is that great because as good as the Yankees are, I'm probly gunning for the WC.

This week we did a little better going 3-3, one game improvement. Our starting pitching was fine. Randy got back to being Randy going 8.ip 2 er and 12 k’s yet still coming out with a loss. Schilling had another great start going 7 innings and only giving up one run while striking out 9. Randy and Schilling are now both tied for first in the majors with 26 k’s. Surprisingly Elmer Dessens threw a CG shutout baseball in his first start. Valverde went 6.2 innings with 11 strikeouts, not bad for a once closer. In the minors two top prospects continue to impress, Patterson and Good. Patterson has now gone 3-0 with a 1.73 era in 26 innings while striking out 14. Good has being a strikeout machine accumulating 24 k’s in only 21 innings. Bullpenn is still very weak. Our hitting has been inconstant with only our number 2 and 3 hitters, Hillenbrand and Overbay, being able to hit the ball on a consistent basis. Luis Gonzales has gone ice cold and is now lacking contact to be our 4 hitter. Finley has done fine hitting .264 with 6 hr. A game improvement this week isn’t bad, but we are looking to be better, while also trying to start winning some of those close late games.

Pitiful sim, just pitiful. Lineup hopefully will be better with Lee in it. And I think our IF defense will be great with Crede at 3B. Help out my sorry pitchers hopefully.

2-4 with rocky pitching. Almost every game starters didn't go into the 5th including one win 10-8 against Detroit. Loaiza pitched deep in a 2-1 loss to Sabathia and the Indians, so i cant complain. Buehrle pitched well in the other win going 8 inn. 2 ER. Hitting wise it was consistant throughout. Konerko was on fire. Off game on 2, but pitching is what killed us. Happy i made the Heilman deal, looks promising.

2-4 sim, improvement from our disastrous start. Our team can't hit worth shit. Joe Kennedy is pitching really well, but the rest of our staff has been average to down-right horrible.

Made it back to 500 this sim. Albert is himself and a few others are off to nice starts. I'm just hoping my pitching holds out until Carp and Izzy make it back in a couple of months.....
A development note comes in Bo Hart becoming a better hitter...so hopefully that will answer the problem we have at 2B for some time to come.

We can not not for some reason win at home.
We are 6-0 on the road.
Dontrelle Willis has been sick.

Had a 2-4 sim putting us at .500. The bullpen killed us, and it's only going to get worse once I deal off Armando, pretty much my only dependable arm. Glavine/Leiter are absurd, and have been team MVPs. Floyd had a great sim with the bat, and Reyes completely blew. I still won't focus on OOTP-related things until I get back from vacation, but a little lineup tinkering looks like it could help. At 6-6, I just want my chips to continue to perform as they are, and this will be a successful season.

3-3. I'll take it considering we ran into the Yankees. They did a number on our starters. Tough to Lohse get roughed up, but got good work from Hawkins and Eddie G this sim. Lackey also improved, logging his second quality start (6 ip, 2 er). Sears is still raking. We seem to have just enough at the ML level to compete a bit.
My real concern is my AAA play. Morneau's star looks to be vanishing; he went from a top 25 prospect to 64th ranked, and hasn't hit for shit. His OPS is hovering around .500...ouch. Really hope this just comes with his youth and it doesn't change his status as a five star prospect. Also frustrate with crap production from Tex.
Mauer is also playing like shit, and he fell behind Teixeira to become the second ranked hitting prospect. Hitting right around .100. Ouch.
Denard Span is doing a great job in A. Definitely my CF of the future; raking right now, and he's a 3.5 star prospect with good range and A speed. Looking at him as a top of the lineup hitter in front of the big bats.
Hermida was nasty this sim. Improved his prospect ranking, and is really hitting the ball. Might find himself in AA this season.

3-3 Sim(5-7 overall)
Wayne Frankiln has pitched very well in both of his starts. He's 2-0 14IP 1.93ERA.
Besides him my pitching stinks.
Eric Young has been a very good leadoff hitter so far.

OK, for you guys that havent played OOTP a lot dont get too caught up in the minors prospects rankings. Those change nearly every sim. Other spects in other organizations will increase and decrease and cause a good deal of fluctuation there. You want to watch the player devlopment moreso than rankings. And I personally wouldnt worry a lot about guys not doing well in minors. Some guys minor numbers stink but when promoted they are great and some guys will break records in minors and never amount to nothing. Just dont get to caught up in their stats and rankings. Some other exp OOTP guys may have a different take but thats kinda how I've learned it since I've played.

I have never noticed a correlation between minor league performance and development. As fas as Im concerned its a crap shoot.
