Rays get: Erick Threets (AAA)
Giants get: Ryan Howard (AAA) Chin-Hui Tsao (AAA)
Howard could be a beast but his development has been considerably slow. Tsao could be decent but it's questionable if I'll have a place for him in the future. Threets looks like he could very good... the walks are a concern but he's great in every other category. SF probably wins talent wise but this is the best young pitcher I got offered for Howard and I like his potential alot.
Nice dealing with you man.

I agree.
I hated giving up Threets, as TB can attest, but in the end I felt that this was best for me. Threets profiled as a closer for the Giants, and while I love that live arm I valued Howard's middle-of-the-lineup bat a bit more. It was very close.
After recently dealing away my best power hitter in Thome, along with solid bats in Abreu and Sheffield, I have begun rebuilding my offense.
Howard immediately becomes a legitimate power threat to put in the middle of a lineup.
If Tsao catches a PD he will be very good, and I had internal options like Crain, Cobos, and the recently drafted Ybanez that all fall in the same boat. Any of them could be good a good replacement for Threets with a PD.
Thanks and good luck to TB.
