Ichiro is finally gone. I took long enough to figure out what the heck i was doing. I did not want to move him to an AL team and after many days of talking with matt we got it done. Ichiro have fun in the NL and good luch matt

In the end, I probably give up too much....but I wanted Ichiro. He'll take the leadoff job, moving Edgar to the 2 hole and letting Klesko get more RBI's in the 6 hole. It started as Gautreau/Byrnes/Journell....and at that point I had no problem giving up a backup OF, bullpen arm (for which I have a replacement at AAA) and a prospect that wouldn't break into my infield because of his D. Dye got added because I had no use for an $8 mil backup and I really didn't like Eduardo when I resigned him, so he got moved as well.
Colbrunn takes Eduardo's place on the bench, Eli becomes a primary backup OF and Cordero and Layfield both likely to get the call from AAA.

felt the same way about getting cano probably gave a little to much but when you want someone you gotta get that man. Ichiro is a stud, i really like this trade for both teams.

I tried getting Ichiro for a long time... but since he wouldn't budge I decided to just completely rebuild.

Winning division titles is just no fun without Ichiro. That's why I dealt Nomar, Damon while never even bidding on Lee, Lowell or Urbina. I mean, why bother? It's just not worth it.
I don't think St. Louis overpaid at all by the way. Ichiro's impact will outweigh all those guys easily. Plus now Matt won't have to rebuild.

Plus now Matt won't have to rebuild. Yep, if I wouldn't have gotten Ichiro, you guys would have had a chance at Carpenter, Izzy, Rolen, Edmonds, Pujols, Klesko and Renteria...but since I finally got him, I decided to keep the rest of the guys

St. Louis adds a tremendous player, and further cements their place atop the NL Central. They were my pick to win the division from the get go, and with this addition (barring injury) should have no problems completing that task.
The throw-in of Teahan (I assume that is what he was.) could end up paying dividends for Matt as well. He's only average in talents, but with a boost, he becomes a solid prospect.
Jeff adds a real good player in Eric Byrnes. I have always been a fan of him. Despite his contract (Which I am not a fan of.), Jermaine Dye is still a great bat. I don't like Gautreau nearly as much as I did after his talent hit in the latest PD's, but he's still a solid prospect.
All in all, I am confident Seattle GM Jeff Goble got the most he could for Ichiro. I know I made a decent offer, but it wasn't as strong as St. Louis'.
