This is a question to those OOTP experts...
What are the best ways to gain fan interest? I would assume winning is one, but my team won about 30 more games than the year before, yet my fan interest remains at a meager 11/100. Do the promotions help? I've tried them out but they don't see to do much. What about ticket pricing?
I don't see us getting staying out of the red this year even though my payroll is only about 34 mill... generating revenue has been a bitch for me so any advice is appreciated.

I'm guessing promotions are the way to go?

I was told ticket price drops help sometimes. But mine fan interest went up last year when I increased the tickets prices then went back down when I didnt make the playoffs.

Being in 1st place, or 2nd place helps the most. If you win on a promotion day, you usually gain a fan point. Essentially the main thing is to stay competitive with a cheap roster, and slowly gain cash, while slowly becoming a better team.

Yea, promotions, and ticket prices being lowered helps sometimes. I wouldnt go any lower than $9 tho at the least. The biggest thing is winning. If you stay close to first place all year it shpould go up. It takes a few years of winning records though for it to really pay off I think. Just be patient. Also, trading or signing superstars will sometimes give you a decent little 3,4 even 5 point jump. Not sure thats the path to pursue at this point tho since most superstars do big cost money. It's something to keep in mind though as you get a little cash flow.

I lowered my ticket price to $8 last year (I still have it that way I think) and nothing happened. I don't think my team should be expected to stay in 1st or 2nd all year so I guess I'm stuck. And lastly I signed David Ortiz last year and it hindered me more than anything... we didn't generate anymore revenue than the year before. I'm not expecting to make a ton of money or anything but I don't want to spend my cash to cover my losses because I need to keep my extension money for guys like Crawford, Baldelli, etc.
I'll try to run more promotions and hope my team keeps on winning

My fan interest climbed 30 points last season by simply winning.
I did have at least two promotions a month for the duration of the season as well.
Most of all, just like in real life, if you put a competitive team on the field, the fans will come.

I'm guessing fan loyalty has a lot to do with how quickly your fan interest increases...right?

Getting fan interest to go up more consistently mostly relies on winning on days of your promotions, you'll even see it in your email...Try to spend at least $1,000,000 in promotions a year to be effective, but don't use that really expensive promotion (which is $200,000+ per use). I put in the 3 other promotions every single month. If you win on those days, you're likely to see something.
Getting better always helps. I took a team in another league that had 36 fan interest and 104 loss team up to a 94 fan interest and 98 wins 3 seasons later.
Promote and progress.
Note sure about the signing of the high-star guys, that may be more of a OOTP 6.5 thing---but I could be wrong...doesn't hurt to have a couple 4.0 guys on your team...especially brought in.
