I've heard some panicky talk about saving the league, but I want to see how everyone feels. I certainly don't think this league is nearing its demise--it seems just about every GM is active. What we need to do now is pick up the organization in order to maintain that.
We have a good core of GMs, and I know very few of them are so uninterested that their activity will fade while we sort things out. What I think we need is patience. Today has been really productive--we've started to address the draft needs, and we're getting a co-commissioner in place soon. I'd say that would help Mike worry about simming and game-related issues, while the other guy would keep activity in line, help manage the draft, remind guys of things like trading deadlines, interleague play--basically keep everyone up to date on what's gooing on.
I'd call this just a transition period, where with a little patience and input, we'll sort things out. Duce was a great commissioner, and it's hard to match his responsibility and dedication, but if we do it by committee, and let Mike ease into the duties of simming (because this is his first time), I think we're golden. I just don't want to see a bunch of resignations start appearing just because we're fixing things.

I agree. There are a bunch of little things that can probably help the league run a bit smoother, but the main thing is time. Mike still needs to get the hang of simming and uploading etc. That's why I think a committee is a pretty great idea. If people would rather have two commissioners instead, then that'd be fine too. But I think we need some set jobs set in stone, even if it is the two commissioners and that's it.

I'm commissioner and there is going to be a Co-commissioner when I'm not around. That should help.

I like the idea of Mike running all the sims, uploads, and anything pertaining to actual input into the game itself. Then, someone else, focusing on announcements on the forums, Draft work, posting odds and ends, etc.
And, of course, Mike would still be active in that stuff as well when need be, but it would allow him to fully focus his attention to getting sims done quickly when the time arrives to run it, and getting results posted.
We need to officially announce a Co-Commissioner.

I will be handling the draft with more care now. After tonight each team will get 2 hours to pick starting from 11:00AM EST to 11:00PM EST in which if a team fails to make a pick, I will auto their pick.
