I'm very much looking forward to my improved offense. Adding Nomar, Drew and Burrell is gonna be awesome.

I'm also very excited that more teams are going for it this year, and that we have upgraded our Gm ranks. Should be a good year.

I'm curious to see how the 50+ mill I spent on the final day of FA pans out...

It'll be interesting to see how much money Lums loses this year.

I didn't spend any FA dollars, mainly because I was busy. But with that said, I have some major prospects I'm hoping can come up this season and make a splash.

Its always good to try and win, but its not good to overspend for players. I think depth is as important as top tier talent. Obviously you need some very good talent to win though.

I have a really low payroll, had I realized what was going on, I would have thrown some major money at Vlad. I need an OF, and he'd (obviously) be perfect.

I should've re-signed Sheff and Lopez during season, oh well.

I'm really excited about this year. I tremendously upgraded my bullpen, so hopefully I can shorten games with them. Also, I feel as if my offense will be better with the youth I have. Pierre should set the table again like last year and be the catalyst of my offense. I'm gonna need some production from Griffey, Kearns, and Casey though. I feel that we're better than last year's .500 team, so hopefully we can get 85 wins.

Going to dominate the division, which seems fun.

should be an interesting season for me. i won't be anywhere near as dominant last year, but should still be favorites to win the division though i think seattle will definitely be legit contenders. still have some holes i need to fill but we'll see how the season plays along.

Still lots of holes on my team but im looking forward to see how everyone performs. Arod should at least be fun to watch, but im still waiting on my prospects to come up, maybe end of this year, 05 start seeing them. Want to see how Harang and others perform as well.

Looking forward to seeing if I am able to contend in the NL East.
My team really wasn't in that bad of shape when I took it over. There was already some nice pieces in place, especially in the starting rotation. With the addition of Santana, I should be able to at least give some teams fits. I am not necessarily looking for much to happen this season, however next season, I hope to make a big splash.
In terms of a mini-preview, here is how my club stacks up heading into 2004:
1. E. Chavez, CF 2. R. Winn, RF 3. J. Vidro, 2B 4. G. Jenkins, LF 5. C. Wilson, 1B 6. O. Cabrera, SS 7. J. Randa, 3B 8. J. Phillips, C
B. Schneider, C C. Baerga, 2B/3B T. Sledge, OF S. Spencer, OF TBD
1. J. Santana, L 2. T. Armas, R 3. T. Ohka, R 4. Z. Day, R 5. C. Vargas, R
S. Kim, R J. Powell, R S. Stewart, L T. Drew, R D. Smith, R R. Biddle, R
J. Eischen, L
I could still use some help in the bullpen, and my bench is pretty weak. If am able to upgrade both of those areas, I don't see any reason I can't compete for the NL Eastern Division crown.

Rivas looks improved, which means my middle infield might not be pathetic. Probably gonna give Bartlett a chance. If they are even mediocre, I think I'll do alright. Hoping LeCroy can catch, which doesn't look likely. I want to get Sears all the DH at bats, but Koskie might be out of a job, so I could do Sears-Jones-Vlad in the outfield and Koskie DHing. Don't want to DH Teix but I don't know how he'll do at third. Really excited for Teixeira and Morneau to be in the lineup Jones, Vlad, Sears, Koskie. Lots of power.
I like my pitching a lot, I must say. Lackey got so much better as the year went on. Cook is a great pitcher, as is Odalis. Lohse and Mays were both very impressive last season, and I have a nasty bullpen if Shields can get going.
If Teix is the hitter I think he is, my offense is way improved and I think I'll win the division.

I'm going to make some moves to contend a little this year. Last year was boring.

Improved my offense and defense from last year. Have Carpenter and Izzy for the full year, so the pitching should be better as well. Repeating as NL Central champs is Goal 1. Once we make it there, we'll set our sights higher...but 162 games is a long time to take care of business.

I think I should have some fun with my squad this year, but I don't feel like I'm the favorite to win the division anymore.
I have a lot of contact hitters that don't really have pop... Kapler, Sanchez, Polanco, Mueller... and those guys don't have the greatest patience either. It's gonna be a struggle if they'd don't have good OBPs. The defense isn't as sharp as last year on paper.
Still have the same rotation and similar bullpen. No pitching depth.
It's a worse team but it's a fun challenge and I have to do it because I don't want to become an aging team... really am looking out for the long term as much as I can help it.

My team will still suck but with addition of a big bat that can consistently drive in runs (Papi), and an improved bullpen, 70 wins seems realistic.

My goal is the division title this year with my additions, I feel as if I have added some much-needed pop into the lineup, and my pitching should be pretty good.
