big markets will be able to make more money and will have an advantage(won't be that big but it'll be there) over small markets.
equal markets will put all gm's on an even playing field.

We could just eliminate the 4 bottom teams market wise.

well, i see where this poll is going lol.
only reason i made it is because i thought gm's might want equality. i'll just stick with the markets mattering though unless somebody has objections.

Eventually we can do some kind of revenue sharing. Maybe the bottom 5 money makers each year get some extra cash or something.

Just a few things to consider placing in rules.
I think a luxury tax would be a good idea maybe. Also a minimum payroll reqiurement. And no teams buying out contracts. From my experience there has been teams that will offer huge FA deal and buy them out later. Unless we want that it needs to be in rules. In FBB every team can do that, but with different market sizes in baseball not all can. That can create an uneven playing field. No huge one year deals. Any bid over 10 mil needs to be at least 3 yrs unless player is over 35 or something like that. Here's why, we will be able to offer ext in this game during the season. Sometimes they will take considerably less to resign to a longer deal. So in essence a team is bidding a huge amount to gain sole negotiating rights with a player. The financial system is different than FBB. Some times guys wont talk about an ext but many times they will. Also, the game will sometimes generate some real talented young guys. However, baseball has a service time rule where a player isnt eligible for FA until I think 5 yrs on ML roster. So a team can sign a real talented young FA for huge 1 yr deal and the next yr that players contract will auto renew at ML minimum. I've seen some pretty big fights over this. In this particular version of OOTP I dont think it's as big an issue since we dont have the 40 man roster stuff thats in later versions, but just in case I dont think it's a bad idea maybe. If guys want to be able to do this though thats fine. Just some loopholes that some more experienced OOTP guys may use in case we fill some teams from outside I'm tryin to think of.
Maybe have some type of stadium improvement stuff down the road. We dont have to think about it now but there will be some small market teams that do real well inevitably, and they are gonna want to increase size of their stadium. Probably need to come up with some kind of improvement policy. Pay certain amount to upgrade stadium or amount per yr to build and finance new one like over 3 or 4 yrs. Draft pick trading. How far are we gonna allow that? I think 2 yrs max would be good. Some lgs dont allow draft pick trading at all. You can trade for players after draft but not picks. Also been some lgs that dont allow draftee to be moved until next yr after they were drafted. Need to make policy on that too.
Spencer help me out here on other stuff that can come up we dont really have to think about in FBB.
And if you've already thought about this stuff Duce I apologize.

This is all valid, but I think its better to tackle things one at a time. Maybe we should have a different thread for each potential problem.
