I was thinking since we are rushing/delaying some players entering the draft what about if we lured players out of retirement. This thought came to my mind when I thought I signed Harold Miner when I indeed signed Greg Minor.
Harold Miner was a nasty player that was only in the league for 4 seasons and didn't get to see the time he deserved. If you look at his number per 40 it was unreal. He is the first player that came to mind but I am sure there are plenty of others out there plus we can bring in Euro players like spence had suggested earlier.
The logistics of the idea.....Much like MLB with the negotiations with the Japanese(don't get excited dj) players. Say to bring Miner out of retirement you would have to win the rights to negotiate with him. Say the highest Bid is 5 mil this would mean his first year of his contract would have to be a min of 5mil + you would need enough of your cap to cover the 5mil you offered to negotiate with him so his first year he would have a 10 mil contract basically but -5 to your cap + 5 mil in salary.
Thoughts? Suggestions? and any other players come to mind?

I dont mind adding guys that arent in the league as FAs, but Id need to get them in soon so theyre ready for the first FA period.
I dont want to do anything more complex then adding players to the FA group.

I mean some of these players had some serious potential and some were solid average players in the NBA. Curious to see what you do with these guys could make things pretty interesting as most teams have cap space in the league at least around 10 mil or so.

Radja maybe. Hurley and Miner were both horrific defenders. Hurley flamed out before he got hurt, and Miner never did much other then dunk.
Im thinkin.....
Dino Radja B C- C- C+ B- C
Bobby Hurley C C B C D C
Harold Miner B C C- C C C

I dont want to start inflating league ratings with scrubs, itd kinda make the restart pointless in many respects.

miner was a big reason the heat made the playoffs and his handles were nasty. He also had some sick games against MJ. look at his stats over 40min. He never saw the time bc the coach didn't like him. He was never really hurt or in trouble with the law he just disappeared

He never got big minutes because he was a poor defender, and he had limited athletic ability. he could jump, thats about it. I dont remember his handles being anything but ordinary at best. If he was as good as you say, Id imagine he woulda stuck around the league longer.

I understand you want some surprises, and there will be. I just dont want to flood the FA pool with mediocre NBA players that play huge roles in BBS.

miner first 2 seasons avg 10ppg off the bench in about 20mpg. shot 47%. Not much of an outside game and no 3pt shot. His handles were nice but his passing ability was suspect but he had great handles to create his own path to the lane.
