So Ive always wanted to try to concurrently run the FBB college lague with BBS, and daw draftees from the college league. Unfortunately I no longer have the College Game since my computer crashed. But, I was curious if anyone would be interested in buying the game(Id help on the cost) and learning how to upoad it and run it while I continued to run BBS.
If someone is interested wed have 2 alternatives.
1- Just run the league, and upload. Export the draft class to me, and wed use the draft class for the new BBS drafts.
2-Run the league as a seperate league with GMs and maybe once or twice a week sims. Obviously itd be on the same board, and maybe we could use this as a way to groom new Gms.
The problem with the college game is that I dont know it very well, so im not sure how easy or difficult it is to run. And I think itd need to be owned by all the GMs that participate in it.
Id just thought Id throw this out there since we are already pretty much caught up to current time in BBS, and the new FBB isnt released yet.

I think the easiest thing would be to just run it, then we can look at it, comment on it, as observers. To run a league from it would take someone pretty dedicated.

The game itself looks to be $30 from the FBB site.

If someone wanted to do this, Id send someone a check for 30 bucks. Id just want some kind of assurance whoever was doing it would follow through for at least a couple of years.
Also, is this something you guys would want? I like the idea of the unknown draft classes. And the ability to observe the college league as well as play in the regular league.

The college league could also be pretty easy to run if there are no GMs playing. Essentially just comp run everything, and upload once a week or whatever, just make sure the college season ends about when the playoffs start for BBS.
I also love the idea, and since we went retro last time, i think using fake players would be fun this time.

Im gonna guess were good with draft files for another 5 years or so. After that Id prefer to go to the college game instead of scouting 5th graders.

This may be something I consider helping out on Spencer. I gotta think about my time once I get back to school, but I think it's a possibility.

Well, like I said, it would take time to learn to play the game. Also to learn how to upload. id give you the log in info for the site. None of it is complex. And since itd be computer run, you wouldnt have to do anything except push the sim button and upload.
Obviously wed need to discuss a schedule. But if we sim about 30 days a week in BBS, and need the college year down by the end of the season we could just sim the college year once a week, with each week being a quarter of the season.

Awesome, thanks Aaron. Hopefully someone will step up. Could be a fun chapter of the BBS experience.

Would it really even be possible to run a sim with human coaches? We'd obviously fill the major conferences and run COMP on everyone else, but do you think it would be much fun with a ton of CPU teams if we did human coaches?

Lots of college leagues run like that, since you obviously cant fill all the spots. And much of the the transactions are recruiting, DCs, etc. It doesnt really take communication between GMs. Im always looking to increase the activity of the forum. So Id love a concurrent college league with real managers involved. I just think it would take alot of time. And for the purposes of what i want it is unnecessary. I jsut need the draft file and the backstory.

The correspondent could write up rankings and some short highlights of some of the conference's top players.

Thats why Ive always wanted to do it.

how is duke suckin so much dick in that league.....
i love this idea a lot, unlike a lot of people i actually think fictional players is awesome for a lot of reasons... the main one though being that expectations are so random because you simply have no pre-formed thoughts. it would be a lot of more challenging than the drafts we currently have.
anyhow if i can help in any way, i'll be down... i don't think i can pay for anything online or nothin but i would definitely do whatever possible, that conference correspondent thing sounds pretty cool.

We have the exact same thing going in another league where we can scout players from High School all the way to College. It's been working great over the past 3-4 seasons but i personally prefer real players but that's just me.
