Here's a preview of the Denver Nuggets
Patterson (Right) / Jordan (Left)
PFs and Cs-
The Nuggets have some very good big men. Offensively this team needs to improve, but they got some hard workers on the glass and on defense. Patrick Patterson led the charge last year averaging a little over 12ppg and under 10rpg. He did a great job playing defense and shutting guys down. PP looks to be a leader once more, but he will now have a much improved DeAndre Jordan to help him led this team. Jordan started a little last season, splitting time with veteran Nazr Mohammed. But this year, it seems it's only Jordan's spot to lose. He's become a beast over the offseason and has improved his game. Look for a great year out of him. Nazr should help offer the bench, and fill in when needed. Rookie John Riek seems to be one of the most ready rookies to come out of this draft, especially when it comes to defense and rebounding. Also on the roster is youngster Taj Gibson who probably won't see much time.
Rookie John Riek.
SFs-
Josh Smith has started 574 games in a row, a franchise record, and maybe even a BBS record. Every single game he has worn a Nuggets jersey. He has been the core of this team for years, and he still is. Attempting to take the load off Smith, is veteran Bobby Simmons, who has a good off-season and looks to see solid minutes off the bench. Also look out for DaJuan Summers, he's a good defensive player, and the coaches like his hustle.
Josh Smith has started 574 games in a row.
Daniel leads a strong backcourt.
SGs and PGs-
Daniel Gibson has been awesome for the Nuggets since they acquired him in 2008. Him with the help of Josh Smith and Allen Iverson, have turned this franchise around. Gibson easily had his best season last year putting up 23ppg and over 10.4apg . Stud stats, but Gibson is going to need more help than ever with Iverson out. Look for Josh Childress, Marko Tomas, and Yotam Halperin to fight for minutes at SG and PG. All are solid players and should do a solid job. The Nuggets may try to deal for a SG in the future, but for now, these guys will do. Nick Young might see some time as well. The Nuggets also signed a few projects this offseason, D.J. Augustin and Wayne Ellington. Neither may last, but the Nuggets are hoping maybe one of these guys can have a solid breakout season.
Who is going to step up and fill AI's spot? Will the nuggets part with some of their youth for a better play?
Stay Tuned.
