It has been four months since the last time BBS Senior Writer Galo Pesantes has completed an article for this league. In the midst, many other GMs and writers have taken charge in creating many articles that have provided great reading and substance.
However since being dubbed 'Senior Writer' by the myself, Pesantes has written many of the articles that were considered some of the strongest and most articulate in BBS history. When asked what has changed since then, Pesantes had much to say.
"After a bruising year of football, having to deal with senior year studies and still holding down an editor position at the school newspaper along with a job has taken a toll on my skills and time to write," Pesantes said.
In addition Pesantes has been turned off since some bad moves made by him and his organization including the infamous Darko Milicic ordeal. Although the tanking of the season led in landing young stud DeMar DeRozan, the compensation received from dealing Darko has not taken form.
"We regret the deal now after its all been said and done. At the time we were content, but Darko is still one of the best players in the league and we are sure now through the non-development of many of the players in the deal namely Jeff Green and Jordan Farmar has really stunted the deal and made it a bit regrettable which makes us understand the outrage by most of the league," Pesantes said.
Pesantes also believes catching heat from many owners in the past have discouraged him. But now with some successes with his new team and new players, he believes he can rebound from the disastrous trade.
"However I believe we had something with DeRozan now and with some other pieces we can have something going again very soon."
By something going, Pesantes not only hopes to start dedicating more time to BBS, the Clippers but to returning to his duties as BBS Senior Writer.
"I anticipate some new articles to be written and a couple that are coming very soon," Pesantes said.
With some ideas in mind, Pesantes hopes to also translate the infusion of life in the organization and articles to translate to wins and championships for the club as well.
"In the end, my goal has always been to win by all costs and to be a winner," Pesantes said. "We've won 2 championships in the past, which is still tied for most in the league but that was long ago. Many don't even consider us a reputable organization anymore. It is my job to get us back to that level of supremacy because I have been slacking and making poor decisions, so it is my responsbility to get us back to the top."
Equipped with a young roster and a new found hope, Pesantes hopes to return to his old winning and writing ways very soon.
