Top 10 Most Exciting Teams in the BBS
Which teams in the BBS excite you the most? Which teams provide the most entertainment and intrigue? Which teams would you lay your hard earned cash down to watch night in and night out, if it were possible of course. Taking into consideration star power, young talent, game play and style, heres a list of the top 10 most exciting teams in the BBS, starting at number 10.
10:
Excitement Factor: Their ability to put points on the floor, both inside and out.
Excitement Generator: Gilbert Arenas
Imagine watching Gilbert Arenas head the fast break, with Andrea Bargnani floating on the wing and having the option to either dish the ball off to a trailing Aldridge or throw the ball anywhere near the ring and watch Vince Carter or Paul Harris slam it down ferociously. That’s what it would be like to watch the Indiana Pacers in action. Their smooth shooting ability, versatility and fast style of play make Indiana one of the leagues most exciting teams to watch.
9:
Excitement Factor: Incredible amount of talented youth, scoring ability.
Excitement Generator: Carmelo Anthony
Most people love watching young kids get up and down the floor. Most of the time, a team full of players that are 25 and under lose, but not in this case. Milwaukee finished the year 48-34 in the tough Eastern Conference and managed to do so in a fashion that can only be described as exchilirating. Hinrich, Collison and Ty Lawson make up the teams point guard rotation, which tells you that they run and gun. Carmelo Anthony and Smush Parker carry the bulk of the scoring whilst young Michael Beasley learns off of Jason Maxiell and a rejuvenated Chris Bosh.
8:
Excitement Factor: Youth, this years draft.
Excitement Generator: Monta Ellis
When you think about it, adding two top 5 picks to Monta Ellis, Martell Webster and Al Horford almost seems unfair, however it will become a reality in a few days. Ellis and Webster is probably one of the moest entertaining duo’s in the entire BBS right now, let alone in 5 years when both hit their prime. This team would be lethal from the outside and exciting to watch from the inside. We could probably jolt this team up a few rankings depending on who they draft, however for now, being labelled as the leagues 7th most exciting team should do.
7:
Excitement Factor: Fast style of play, star power.
Excitement Generator: Dirk Nowitzki
Any team that has a 7 footer running the lanes is bound to be exciting. Throw in a Tracy McGrady, a Shawn Marion, a Channing Frye and an unbelievably reliable Roko Ukic and you have something special. Every fast break would result in a dunk, trying to score against them would be an absolute nightmare. Unfortnatly for the Spurs, things didn’t go as planned as they failed to make the Conference Finals, a massive let down for the city of San Antonio.
6:
Excitement Factor: Kobe Bryant
Excitement Generator: Kobe Bryant
Excitement is bound to be just around the corner when Kobe Bryant walks into the building. His ability to score is unmatched in the BBS and his style of play unparalleled. Pair Kobe with the ever improving Danny Granger, Stephon Marbury, Andrew Bogut and the defensive presence of Eddy Curry and you have a team to look out for. They posses one of the leagues best 1-2-3 trio’s which managed to output an impressive 74.7ppg this season, something that would definitely excite the average fan.
5:
Excitement Factor: Depth, youth and the ability to watch future superstars grow.
Excitement Generator: Luol Deng
Wouldn’t it be awesome if one team could house the careers of 4+ future BBS superstars? Well, it just happens that Amare Stoudemire, Luol Deng, Derron Williams, Hasheem Thabeet, Eric Gordon, Tyreke Evans, Boris Diaw and Joakim Noah call LA home. Rotations would be endless, lay-ups a rarity and excitement a given. This team would run and run and shoot, and then do it all over again. Not only are they young and developing, however they are also winning and taking LA right back into the promise land. Give them a few years and you will be calling this team a dynasty.
4:
Excitement Factor: The fact that they are winning, oh and the Wade/Diaz combination.
Excitement Generator: Dwyane Wade
One week you are relying on Al Jefferson to produce your offence, the next you have the likes of Dwyane Wade and Guillermo Diaz doing it for you. You then have Tyson Chandler swatting shots left right and centre followed by Manu Ginobilli putting up points where he can. Minnesota went from being one of the leagues most boring teams to a perrinial title contender. The T-Wolves are good for a reason, and that reason is their dynamic duof Dwyane Wade and Guillermo Diaz. The pair combined for over 55 points this season will be looking to create even more damage next year.
3:
Excitement Factor: The best young trio in the BBS.
Excitement Generator: Greg Oden
This team is actually unfair. They have the best young big man in the league in Oden. The best young/not young (was young, is now developing) big man in the league in Darko Millicic, a former top 4 pick in Greg Monroe and OJ bloody Mayo on their team. This team is set for the future. Their GM has done enough to just sit back and relax because no matter whom you support, your going to lay down cash to watch Mayo and Oden play on the same team.
2:
Excitement Factor: They win, star power, scoring ability.
Excitement Generator: Tony Parker
New York have been winning forever. Tony Parker has won MVP’s, Yao has lifted championship trophies, KG has helped get them into the BBS finals, AGAIN, whilst Rudy Gay and Kevin Durant enjoy the ride and develop together to form the future of the Knicks organisation. They have so much talent now that it will never run out. This NY team will always be at the top. If you’re going to watch NY play and you’re a Knick fan, your walking out of that stadium happy 99% of the time. If you’re an opposing fan, I suggest you spend your money on something else because they are going to get beat.
1:
Excitement Factor: Run and gun style of play, they win.
Excitement Generator: Baron Davis
Yes, the most exciting team in the league is the Detroit Pistons. Why? Well, they won 66 games this year, 4 more than any other team. They have been doing this for years on end whilst patiently rotating players in and out of their system. Andrew Bynum has quietly developed into the leagues best big man. Samardo Samuels is inaudibly trying to do the same. Ron Artest is locking down defenders left right and center whilst you watch Chris Paul and Baron Davis run the hell out of the other team. It’s nice viewing folks and the reason why I label the Detroit Pistons as the leagues most entertaining team.
