The New Jersey Nets have already made a big trade just eight games into the season.
The Nets sent star guard/forward Vince Carter, reserve forward Drew Gooden, and the Suns 1rst round draft pick this year (likely lotto) to the Chicago Bulls for Taysan Prince and Zydrunas Ilgauskas.
Nets GM Rommie said that "We felt that Taysan gives us a little more all around play. We like his size, athletic ability, and all around skills. Z is a big man, who hopefully will give us plenty of shot blocking down low."
"We thank Vince and Drew for their contributions here. Vince was not here very long but made a big impact, same with Drew. We wish them the best of luck in Chicago."
The Nets are likely to have a big starting five. Jose Calderon and Taysan Prince should start in the backcourt with Memo Okur, Chris Kaman, and Ilgauskas.
Both Taysan and Ilgauskas seemed happy to be heading to New Jersey.
"The Bulls are re loading their team. I am hoping that I can come in and help the Nets make the playoffs and be a part of completely different situation, it should be fun." stated Prince.
Z plans to patrol the paint, swat away shot attempts, and rebound. "I know that my glory days are over with. I'm not the scoring threat that I once was. However my job is simple here, defend, block shots, and rebound. Score when I the oppurtunity presents it self." Ilgauskas said.
The Nets are tired of losing year after year and are hoping that this trade can help change their losing ways.
