Lots of big deals were made. Some teams quickly improved and some have started to re build. Here is a look at those teams.
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors traded off both of their franchise players in Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan.
The Warriors suprisingly kept both players in their divison. Bryant went to Seattle and Duncan is now playing for the Kings in Sacramento. The Warriors received a variety of expiering contracts, picks, and young players for the two stars.
It will be a rough year for the Warriors as they go from being led by Bryant and Duncan to being led by Louis Williams and Gerald Henderson. But with so much cap room to come, some young talent that will get better, and their own 1rst round draft picks along with a couple of others the future is bright for the Warriors.
Chicago Bulls
The Bulls trading away pretty much their whole starting five is huge news, although no suprise. It's huge for the league to have these guys spread out. The scary thing is the Bulls can still make the playoffs with their current team.
Elton Brand went to the Hawks. They received Rashard Lewis, Mike Conley, and a couple of draft picks. The Bulls other big time forward, Dirk Nowitzki, was sent to the Spurs. The Bulls received Taysan Prince and a variety of youth and picks.
The Bulls then sent recently acqiured Rashard Lewis to the Mavs for some picks and Chris Duhon. In one of the biggest deals of the off season the Bulls sent Tyson Chanlder, Manu Ginobli, and a couple of others to the Timberwolves for Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Corey Brewer, Tyrus Thomas, and some 1rst round draft picks.
I doubt you see the Bulls be a real contender for the BBS Championship this year but they had a great re building off season. They can still make the playoffs and with the youth and draft picks they now have it won't take them long to put together another dynasty.
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors made a couple of major shakeups. First they sent out two of their best shot blockers in Adonal Foyle and Robert Traylor to the Kings for Chris Webber and a first round draft pick.
However they made an even bigger deal with the Timberwolves. They sent out superstar Dwyane Wade and Guillermo Diaz for OJ Mayo, Paul Harris, Tracy McGrady, Marc Gasol, and a draft choice.
The Raptors future looks awesome with Greg Oden, Jeff Green, OJ Mayo, Jordan Farmar, and Greg Monroe as long as he developes well.
Interesting that these teams are all starting to re build in the same season.
Minnesota Timberwolves
The Timberwolves look like the best team in the West right now. With Dwyane Wade, Manu Ginobli, Guillermo Diaz, Al Jefferson, and Tyson Chanlder they are now loaded.
Already talked about the deals they made as they brought in Wade, Ginobli, and Diaz.
It will be fun to see how far they can go. They don't really have much of a bench but their starting five is awesome. Great off season for them IMO.
Detroit Pistons
Made a big deal with the Clippers. Sent Darko Millicic, and a couple of talent young guards in Petteri Koponen and Marco Belinelli for Baron Davis. Davis is one of the most dominate players at his position.
With Okafor and Bynum they shouldn't miss Darko. Baron and Chris Paul will be a very interesting backcourt to watch.
This is the only deal the Pistons made this off season I think but I think it's a big trade for them that makes them better.
That's all for now.
