Team Strengths: - Good young core to build around - Have cap room this offseason and two 1sts - Balanced scoring attack
Team Weaknesses: - Lack of quality starters at SG & PF - Lack of quality depth off the bench - Defense
Franchise Player: - Marvin Williams - Since new Hornets GM nova took over late last season, he has made numerous trades. The only player that was on the roster back then that is still on it is Marvin Williams. One of the best young small forwards in the league, Williams is already a great defender, and a solid rebounder. In addition, he is already a legitimate offensive weapon, and with another year or two of development, he could be one of the best forwards in the league.
Trade Block: - Melvin Levett - The Hornets are not looking to make any blockbuster deals at this point, they are just looking to make some minor deals, such as swapping expirings, the main player they would like to deal for a matching expiring is Melvin Levett.
Season Outlook: - The Hornets are looking like a mid-to-late lottery team, and the main focus this year is to make sure the chemistry is there between the trio of Nene, Marvin Williams, & Smush Parker. These three will be the face of the franchise for the future, and the Hornets will be looking very carefully at how they perform.
The Future... - The Future looks bright in New Orleans as they will have plenty of cap room this offseason as well as having five 1sts in the next two seasons. If they can sign another good young player in Free Agency in addition to drafting talented young players, this team could be very very dangerous by 2009.

Does that Joe Johnson deal look so bad now? Marvin Williams is a stud at the SF

Hated the fact that New Orleans tore the team apart. Agreed, Outlaw should have never gone so cheap. People can rag on me all they want... but I'd rather have Outlaw and Marvin Williams as my cornerstones then Smush or Nene.

Here's what I've done since taking over... Traded:Steve Nash(Good player, but on a bad contract) Joe Smith(Ugly contract) Anthony Parker(HORRIBLE contract) Rip Hamilton(HORRIBLE contract) Travis Outlaw Al Harrington(Somewhat ugly contract) Nick Collison #22 #26 Bulls 2010 1st for Smush Parker Nene About 20 mill in cap room this offseason Hornets 2007 1st Top 20 1st by 2008 Top 20 1st by 2008 2 RC's Numerous 2nd round picks

I never said you "screwed up" anything. Steve Nash had a lesser contract than Smush. Joe Smith is always tradeable as there is always a need for a good serviceable C he was given that contract so he wouldn't sign away from in Free Agency just like you overpaid for Nene and Smush. Rip Hamilton agreed. Parker see Smith(when I signed Parker to that contract he had much better ratings went down tremendously in TC) Outlaw/Harrington > Nene/Smush. Those top 20 picks are a crap shoot. Again... have you done a decent job yes... but it's nothing special nor am I saying you "screwed up."

You tremendously underrate Smush & Nene...just look at their #'s...I'd much rather have Smush then Nash. He's a good deal younger, and IMO, is a better PG. I'd also rather have Nene then Outlaw...good, young bigs are more difficult to find then good, young SF's.

I think Nova has a tough road ahead. His division is stacked, and he will have troubles adding the final pieces. He really needs 2 more studs to compete IMO.

Any PG as a #1 option is going to put up those numbers, but Christ again where did I say that Smush "shouldn't" have gotten that contract or if he's worse than Nash? Did he overpay? Absolutely, because PGs are a dime a dozen... but with free agency you need to over pay, and that was my point as his was that I had "horrible" contracts before hand.

So you wouldn't max this for 6years?: PG 25 6'4'' 194 C+ A- A- A C C 20.1ppg 6.1rpg 8.8apg 2.3spg. Not to mention NO has 2 other 20+ppg scorers. Damn man, no wonder you quit...

Let me put this in simple terms. Would I max him? Yes. Does he deserve it? No. Reason? Because there are a ton of PGs that can do the same if not better. I think PG is the easiest position to fill. Smush is a number one option on a team with no depth... that's why the monster numbers. Free Agency is so inflated in BBS it's ridiculous just look at Krstics' signing.
