#2 New York Knicks (Outlawz)
vs
#1 Chicago Bulls (Dave)
The Matchup:
The Bulls are still savoring their sweep over hated rivals the Toronto Raptors as they enter the conference finals. While the underrated New York Knicks took care of their business with Motown's finest but ailing group. The question remains: which team will emerge to the Finals? Will it be the highly explosive, offensive Bulls squad or the ultra lockdown Knickerbockers?
Key Players:
Tony Parker G Knicks- Parker has put up MVP type numbers throughout these playoffs and look for it to continue in this series. Although Ginobilli is an extremely good defender, Parker should still have his chances to take over if the Knicks are to make a dent offensively.
Dirk Nowitzki Bulls- The German foward may capture his first BBS championship if he can hold off the Knicks and advanced to the Finals. His scoring will again be relied upon and should be no problem against a good but not great defender, Larry Hughes. Should the Bulls advance in this series, Nowitzki will be a major reason why.
Keys to the Series:
Bulls
-Stop Tony Parker at all costs
-Do not let Yao control the paint
-Maintain a balanced scoring attack to slow the Knicks defensively
Knicks
-Establish their offense early and shoot efficiently
-Cause turnovers for easy points
-Keep the ball in Parker's hands
Result:
Bulls win series 4-2- The Bulls' potent offense will prove to be too powerful for the Knicks to handle despite their excellence in defending as a team. New York will have to cause the Bulls to turn over the ball alot to make oppurtunities for their offense but still dont count on that since the Bulls averaged the least fewest turnovers in the league this season.
Projected Lineups:
NYK
C Yao Ming
PF Samuel Dalembert
SF Larry Hughes
SG Derek Anderson
PG Tony Parker
CHI
C Marcus Camby
PF Elton Brand
SF Dirk Nowitzki
SG Joe Johnson
PG Manu Ginobilli
