The Memphis team finished the season with an abyssmal 24-50 record. The final straw may have been the moving of Tony Parker for a downgrade in Kirk Hinrich. Also the move to acquire an aging star in Ray Allen was in question from the start. The team struggled after that. Even though several other changes had been made, the team then decided, oh let's not be healthy for a change and the IL list grew and grew each day. The Memphis President decided that a change would be made and fired Dave. Dave was frustrated after being fired and had some unkind words after his departure, also refusing to comment with several reporters.
Grizzlies President brought in the experienced Hype as Memphis's new GM. Hype after accepting the job commented "It's great that the past experience is appreciated and I'm hopeful to help make this team a contender immediately We have some nice talent which just needs some role players and veterans around them to help improve the team's chemistry. With pieces such as Allen, Terry, Robinson, Lewis and Nene, I see good things happening for this team in the near future."
With this change being made, it raises the question, who else is on the hot seat? Have specific GM's overstayed their welcome? Who needs to win now, or be out of a job?
