The Elite 5 Teams as shown below, with the best shot at a title this season:
#1: Golden State Warriors (53-15) - VC/Kobe is an upstoppable duo. Baron Davis is playing beastly at the 1 (20+ ppg for a pg is insane along with 10+ dimes). Aaron Williams is good for boards and blocks as well as Scott Pollard. Malik Rose serves his role as a decent bench player.
#2: Chicago Bulls (52-17) - Camby and his rebounding prowess and blocking abilities. Elton Brand putting up 23 and 12. Wallace as a bench scorer looks nice. Dirk for inside and outside scoring. JJ as a 3rd scoring option is sick. Manu Ginobli has continued to pass with great efficiency and chip in points as well.
#3: NY Knicks (52-19) - Ming/Parker combo has been great all year. Duhon/Tinsley are great serviceable backups to have. Hughes continues to put up solid scoring #'s. Dalembert and Diop are blocking and board beasts.
#4: Detroit Pistons (49-20) - Acquisition of Ratliff gives them another stud blocker and some boards off the bench. Darko has played a great role off the bench. T Prince can play anywhere basically. Lebron has been basically, Lebronesque. Shaq is still "The Diesel." Ford has filled in nicely with Kidd moving on.
#5: Toronto Raptors (43-27) - Can never count out the defending champions. Stepania and White serve as great blockers. Gil Arenas is a stud who can finally play his true 2 position with Kirk Hinrich running the show, very nicely, in fact. Mason is a nice bench option. Traylor still shows no signs of aging.
