Pacific Division
Golden State
They have the best trio in the league. They have no front court yet are the equal best team in the league at the moment with Chicago. Vince Carter is playing out of his mind (second best PF) in the league and everythings going great in Golden State. Serious title contenders and by far and away, the best and only team in the West.
Final Grade: A
LA Clippers
Currys a nice building block but they don’t have anything else besides him to utilise. They havent got their pick for a while which isnt good and lack true direction, one way or the other. I personally don’t like this team especially with 2 bad and one decent contracts in Miller, Van Horn and Maggette.
Final Grade: C
LA Lakers
I fucking love this team. 2 top 5 picks in this years draft along with Amare, Granger, Harris, Diaw, Williams, Deng and Sweetney is sick. They are strong now and will be a dynasty in around 4 years.
Final Grade: A+
Phoenix Suns
Phoenix are a pretty good team. I didn’t like the pickup of Wallace because I think his contract is horrendous but he does make a nice duo with Chris Webber. They aren’t performing up to their talent level which is a bit of a worry but don’t think they won’t make noise come playoff time.
Final Grade: B
Portland Trailblazers
A real surprise package in my opinion. I didn’t like the Deng trade for them at all however Okafor has picked up his production a little which has lightened the sting for me. Rich and Marbs are pretty sick. The 07 Kings first could be a ripper and could really put them over the top if they decide to deal it as a Western Conference power house (not that hard to do in the West though).
Final Grade: B
Sacramento Kings
Sac-Town were thrown a lifeline by landing the number 1 pick in the draft. They then cut this life line, tangled it into 23 knots and through it back into the water by dealing Villanueva for Jason “I’m a fucking point guard too, just like your franchise player” Kidd. JK is on a 4 year, $73,205,000 contract. They also have no picks over the next 2 years and only 1 valuable asset besides Paul in Miller. Please deal him for something that will assist in the franchises movement! Maybe I should start a Scott Pollard v Shaquille O'Neal thread and see how my luck goes...
Final Grade: C-
Seattle Sonics
Brandons old. AI’s moving on and they don’t have their picks for another two years, cap space or any financial flexibility. They need to figure out what they plan to do in the future because I don’t see anything but gloom at the moment for the Sonics.
