DJ did basically what I'm trying to do... Tank for 3 years, get a top 5 pick each year, and become serious contenders 2-3 years later. Only problem is there is this ghey 40 win season shit.

What do you classify as half-ass tanking? Trying to stash good players, or playing away from good players strengths. So what DJ did? When he had T-Mac, AK, Redd, Arenas and only won 30 games? When he ran inside focus when he had Redd, Tmac as his top options?

Trying to stash good players, or playing away from good players strengths. Oh, so you mean pretty much real tanking? I think getting rid of players and clearing cap space isn't tanking; it's part of rebuilding. So when I traded Zo, Sheed, KVH for 15+ firsts in season one you think that was a wise move on my part?

I believe the real issue here to be this... Chicago tanked for Brand. That season, he traded away what talent he had, rather than trading for players that could help him at that time, so that his team could finish with the worst record possible and therefore secure the best draft pick possible, which ended up being Brand. This is what is referred to as tanking. As a result of this tanking job, he was then able to draft Manu Ginobili in a subsequent draft. So, by tanking... not hard work or making fair trades or signing FA's(as he would claim)... but by tanking, he ended up with 2 of the 3 best players on his roster today. What about the third you might ask? Well, he then proceeded to rip off one of the newer(rather than older) GM's in the league when he acquired a top 3 talent in Dirk Nowitzki. To sum up... he claims his team is based on hard, honorable work.. but what we have come to learn is that his team was put together through tanking and rip off trading... the very same things he condemns others for doing. So, the very same behaviours he so vigorously accuses others of are behaviours he engages in. That which he dislikes in others is what he dislikes in himself. Session is free of charge. Yea ummm so I traded my players post draft as opposed to you who traded down in the original draft by trading picks to lumley for future picks. So where is your argument there? Also I traded away all my talent and got extreme value in return I just simply couldn't turn it down. Also my second season I almost doubled my win total by yes signing free agents and making trades. By not merit of my win total did I land Manu as I'll say again I landed him with a pick I acquired from a trade in the Zo deal. I traded a Minnesota pick to Miami for Manu. Can you read DJ? So I ripped a new GM for Dirk huh? Hey Andy do you want to defend yourself here? I believe Andy has had one of the more successful franchises in BBS without having older veterans consuming their roster. They waited for Marbury to develop had Z and acquired Dirk quite nicely and had one of the best teams in the east. Again 76ers have landed Gerald Green and Sean May from the Dirk deal and have a few more years of picks ahead of them. Don't fault me for working hard to acquire those picks to trade them back to Andy to help him rebuild which is some he wanted. So your session sucked and thank goodness it was free because if it wasn't I would have definitely demanded my money back

Just because I don't really know the entire situation of your team at that time. But I wouldn't classify it as tanking since you didn't have good players and still lose way too many games. You went about it the right away and gutted your team to start rebuilding.

At least you went out and signed FA in positions that you needed to fill a roster. You didn't just go out and sign all guards and leave yourself without any big men. You also tried to sign guys that had some trade value. You just weren't to successful dealing them.
