Last year’s champions the Toronto Raptors remain the league’s best team through day 110. Not only do they hold the best record in the league but the hottest squad overall by currently winning 10 in a row.…Another East team not having the same success as earlier in the season is the New York Knicks. After getting off to a hot start with former lottery pick Kirk Hinrich at the helm, the Knicks have not been quite the same after a trade with the Grizzlies which brought Frenchman guard, Tony Parker. Still, the Knicks currently hold the seventh seed in the East despite losing eight of their last 10….The play of Washington Wizards’ point guard Eric Snow has been a pleasant surprise. The former Utah standout is averaging more points, steals, blocks, and shooting a better percentage than his counterpart, LeBron James. Van Horn may be due for another big pay day this off-season because of his tremendous play…Although Bulls GM Dave Krupimpski may have done the best job this season in assembling and guiding his team to success, there should be some consideration for Sonics GM Brendan ‘Pig’ McEneaney. One of his best and biggest moves was acquiring swingman Richard Jefferson for Jason Richardson from the Portland Trail Blazers….The battle for regular season MVP should be between Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant and Chicago Bulls forward Dirk Nowitzki. So far, Bryant has the edge in points, minutes, and assists and plays in favorable conference unlike the much tougher Eastern conference. If Bryant does receive the award, it will be his first most valuable player award which will join his other honors of all league first team (99’,00’,02’) and all-star game appearances (98’-04’)…
