Best record in the League. Tops at home with a 19-1 record. Elton Brand looks to be the front runner for MVP as the All star break nears. Leagues highest scoring team (108.2 ppg) and most efficient offense. Also continue to lead the league in assists per game and in averaging the fewest turnovers.
2(1) - Detroit Pistons (24-9) -
Held the fort well Shaq was out. Highly efficient offense that shoots a lot of FT's. A team that likes to share the ball, avging over 26 assts per game. Good defensive team that should only get better with Shaq's return.
3(4) - Toronto Raptors (26-7) -
Leagues top rebounding team, avging 54.6 per contest. Among leaders in blocks. Leagues best 3pt shooting team at 44%. Holding opponents to a league low 42.8% shooting.
4(6) - New York Knicks (25-11) -
Another strong defensive unit. Opposition is only shooting 43% against them. Efficient offensively and get to the line over 30 times a game. Strong rebounding team that leads the league in blocks with 9.6 a night.
5(5) - Phoenix Suns (26-13) -
Solid rebounding team that holds opponents to just over 96 ppg. Very good perimeter defense that shuts down 3pt shooters. Losing Webber to a torn quad is a major loss but he should be ready for the playoffs.
6(2) - Los Angeles Lakers (24-14) -
Third highest scoring team. Secong in steals and blocks per game. Tops in the league at forcing turnovers, causing 15.2 mishaps per game. Solid defensive unit with very good perimeter defense.
7(7) - San Antonio Spurs (24-14) -
Second highest scoring team, dropping 106 ppg. Efficient offense that gets to the line and shoots the 3 ball well. Leagues best FT shooting team, knocking down 82.5% of their attempts. Give up a lot of FT attempts but excel at stopping the three.
8(-) - Houston Rockets (22-14) -
Third in rebounding and fourth in assists. Hold opponents to a league low 45.5 rebounds. Chandler and Fortson form one of the better Pf/C duos in the league.
9(8) - Washington Wizards (23-15) -
A team that shares the ball and gets their share of steals. Very efficient offence that is deadly from 3pt land. Walker is having a breakout season, avging over 25ppg, 6 boards and 4 assts.
10(-) - Golden State Warriors (20-15) -
Lead the league in steals per game. Force a lot of turnovers(15 per game). A good defensive unit that holds teams to just under 44% shooting. Strong perimeter game.
