(1) - LeBron James (DEN) - Bron continues to lead the pack in the race for ROY. Avg's of 24 ppg, 7 boards and 4 assts show off his versatility, while shooting percentages of 47/81/42 show how efficient this rook has been to date. The only downside to his performance thus far has been his high turnover rate (3.6 per) and lack of effort of the defensive end.
(4) - Kirk Hinrich (NYK) - Hinrich climbs 2 spots in this weeks addition after locking up his first rookie of the month award. Hinrich has proven he can handle a starting gig in the Big Apple, dropping 13/8 on 46% from the field. He also contributes defensively with 2 steals a game. Excellent from the FT line.
(-) - Tj Ford (NOH) - Along with some veteran additions, Ford has helped make the Hornets into a competitive team this season. Which is good news for them as they don't own their own pick in the upcoming entry draft. Ford is avging an impressive 8.6 assists and is shooting a surprising 45% from the floor. Also plays a bit of defense.
(2) - Anderson Varejao (NJ) - Varejao continues to produce for the Nets, although his efficiency has dropped. Most impressive is his ability to contribute in all facets of the game. Shows the ability to play multiple positions and has the potential to develop into a very good defensive presence.
(5) - Chris Kaman (NYK) - Now starting in NY, Kaman continues to have a fine rookie season. He is avging 13/7.5 on 45% shooting. Shows a solid touch from midrange and the FT line. Doesn't turn the ball over a lot.
