The 2003 season for the Pacers ended on a sour note. For the second time in two season they went up against the mighty Pistons but this time they came up short. Despite the injury to Kevin Garnett, nobody on the team is offering excuses. This season will be much of the same, as the Pacers have too much talent and there will be no excuses for coming up short again.
Indiana was able to re-sign Grant Hill to a three year deal. He is a great compliment to Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett. This trio of stars should have no problem getting this team deep into the playoffs. The only question is of what this team needs to do to get themselves over the hump now.
It looks like for the first time in three season the team will actually have some outside shooting in Doug Christie and Carlos Arroyo. They did lose Andre Miller, which many think will be a little costly for them.
The Pacers projected line-up has Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Jamie Feick in the front court. Grant Hill and Carlos Arroyo fill out the guard positions.
This much is clear. Indiana has two of the very best players in the league. They have the ability to dominate the glass and the paint. What is not clear is if they have what it takes to go all the way. They'll need to stay healthy and execute well, or else it will be another lousy ending.

Nice work, Duce.
Definitely curious to see how the PG situation plays out for you, with Dre gone.
But Grant, KG, and Duncan are one of the best trios in the league, so you'll probably be successful either way, at least in the regular season.
