"TO THE POINT"
Point guard Tim Hardaway was injured on Day 80 as the Washington Wizards took on the leagues top team, the Golden State Warriors. Hardaway went down early in the 1st Quarter as opposing point man Baron "Chubz" Davis landed on top of him after a collision sent the pair to the floor. Both players were chasing after a loose ball when they ran into each other. Early reports indicate that Hardaway suffered a torn abdominal muscle which will likely sideline him for at least 35 days. With Damon Stoudemire out 4 more days, the Wizards will look either Aj Guyton or Vinny Del Negro to fill the void at the one. It is also possible the Wizards look outside the organization for a quick fix as they are battling for playoff position in the tough Eastern conference.
"NO TD FOR INDY"
After some wheeling and dealing, the Pacers find themselves dealing with some injury issues. Newly acquired center Tim Duncan is still recouperating from a broken jaw and is expected to be out another 13 days. Jamie Feick or Ousmane Cisse look to be the front runners for increased playing time while Duncan is out. The Pacers lack depth down low so may be looking to add another big through trade.
"ALMOST MILLER TIME"
After a lengthy bout with severe depression, Utah Jazz center Brad Miller will make his return in 3 days. It couldn't come at a better time as the Jazz are struggling, going 4-6 in their last 10 games. Miller signed a maximum extension with the team in the offseason which makes one wonder what he has to be depressed about? Whatever the cause, Miller's return should give the Jazz a much needed boost as his interior defence and offensive ability was sorely missed. Look for Vitaly Potapenko to be the man bumped out of the starting five, although he should still provide the team with quality minutes off the bench.
