Anyone watch Clemens' interview on 60 minutes tonight? According to the Rocket it is "hogwash" that anyone has accused him of cheating and that they are disrespecting his 24 years of service to Major League Baseball. He even said he'd take a lie detector test to prove his innocence. Thoughts?

Guilty. I say death penalty. We must teach our youngsters a lesson...you cheat, you die.

I know the interview swayed your opinion Mark. It wasn't that good of an interview. Didn't change anything for me honestly. He has outstanding lawyers I'm sure, and hammered the holes of the Mitchell Report ("where did I get the steroids?!?!?!?!") in a really passionate, over-the-top manner. Nice tactic. He also never came out and said he'd take a lie detector test, unless I completely misheard him. What I heard him say/do was tip-toe around the idea of it, until they moved on. Regardless, I don't care about a lie detector test at all really. Did the interview change the fact that McNamee and Pettite both had the exact same story on Pettitte's HGH use? That's the key to the whole thing. Clemens is a total joke.

I believe every word Clemens says 110%. Like he said, all these accusations are "hogwash"!

i thought it was incredibly manipulating how clemens set up the conversation with mcnamee and ended up taping it with his lawyers in the room... who knows if he's truly being genuine.

No but in all seriousness, I agree with Mark and definatly think Clemens is lieing. I mean any guy who has a 20+ year legacy on the line, with no hard evidence, will vehemently deny any involvement with steroids. What do you expect a guy like Clemens or Bonds would say? "Yup darnit you got me, it was good while it lasted, even though my balls shrunk, my head grew, I threw a bat at a baserunner and that I broke out with backne?" Hell no! There's countless guys in the league who have took and are still taking steroids, there will always be those who slip through the cracks. Like it has been said, the Mitchell Report is just the tip of the iceberg.
Since we rarely know exactly who took what, where and when, I believe MLB should let guys like Bonds, Clemens, and McGwire into the HOF and just leave it at that (I'm unsure if there is any hard evidence on Bonds and McGwire took drugs that were legal at the time). Only guys with actual hard evidence and documents/bills, linking them to steroids should be excluded from the Hall. The 90s-Today will still be an era under scrutiny but as long as games are being televised and players are being paid tens of millions, there will always be guys looking for shortcuts inorder to improve their game and enhance their image. Unfortunatly, steroids and performance enhancing drugs will never leave baseball or sports and there will always be speculation and suspicion.

Maybe Clemens took them, maybe he didn't, nobody knows for sure, and I am not sure if we ever will. Personally I do not think he took them. When did the guys head get bigger? If you look at past pictures of him he looks the same, maybe he got a little fatter in the face, but as you get older that happens.
He said they would not use a lie detecter because they do not know how accurate they really are. That is true in some cases when a person is on one of them, they get nervous and it fucks up what it reads. Why didnt that Brian Mcnamee tell roger in there conversation, no roger you took them? Why did he come out looking to make everything right with roger? Because he fucked up, and made up some bullshit to save his own ass from getting throw in jail. When he had to give up a big name, they asked who is your biggest star that you work with? He of course says roger clemens, now what you got on him? Its all fucked up, I do not believe Brian Mcnamee and I believe Roger Clemens. Until they prove it, I believe him.

You dont think they would have played the ones for the press if he was asked that do you? I have litle doubt he took them. He was declining his last couple years in Boston it looked like to me. And his return to being a dominant pitcher just happended to closely coincide with McGwire and Sosa hitting HR's like singles too? As I've stated before I think this whole era should have an asterick until they develop a drug test that can detect HGH and newer roids. There's no way to catch em all so just throw an asterick up there and let old records still be the official ones with astericks by these.

You think they had more than one conversation? Who the hell knows what really happened. That is why I will not be convinced till we really found out for sure, and I am not sure if that ever will happen.
If you put an Asterisk by that entire era, it would destroy the league IMO.
