I'm pissed about the Mets dealing Milledge for fuckin' Ryan Church and Brian Schneider... Milledge actually had some value.

Church had 40+ doubles on a crap team.
Thats 100 RBI on the Mets.
Schneider is a very good defensive catcher.
Milledge would have started if he was really ready.
Apparently, no teams thought Milledge was worth "top prospect" veterans.

Yup, not nearly as bad a deal as everyone says. Church is a really good player, and Lastings' value comes purely from his age. He's also a product of NY hype. Omar offered Lastings around to everyone, and the consensus was he was no longer worth a top SP, or even worth being apart of a deal (over guys like Gomez, Martinez, etc). He's hugely overrated, and I think everyone loses sight of that. It's not the best deal ever, and it's not the worst. I really don't see it as something to think twice about. People were comparing it to Kazmir for Zambrano... HA. Pathetic to say anything like that.
As for the Marlins offering Dontrelle to the Mets for Pelfrey and Milledge, I wouldn't have done that. And, Pelfrey and Milledge really don't hold much value anymore, as they're more like the Mets second tier prospects behind Mulvey, Gomez, and Martinez. But, Dontrelle sucks. Yup.

I don't think Milledge is that great (F-Mart will be better) but I thought he had alot more value.

Speaking with WFAN, beat reporter Sweeny Murti said…
“Omar Minaya said he inquired about Dontrelle Willis, but the Marlins were not going to deal him within the division.
“However, the Tigers have explored the idea of spinning him off, and they have contacted the Mets. There wasn’t an official offer presented to Omar, but what was talked about, from what I was told, the talked about spinning off Willis in addition, though, the Mets would have to take on some salary. The Tigers are interested, perhaps, in moving Willis and Ivan Rodriguez and dumping his salary, which is $13 million next season. So, if the Mets wanted Willis from Detroit, that have to take on that salary. The thing is, he has a no trade clause, so to get him to waive it you’d probably have to give him another year.”
