Since he is an athlete is he less of a person then you and I? Does the death of a soldier in Iraq have to be more gratified and glorified because he is a U.S soldier? A death is a death no matter who you are, no death is more or less important then the next. I agree with you, but essentially those people are simply arguing that its not entirely fair that the death of an athlete gets more press coverage (exposure to the public) then the deaths of every single soldier minus Pat Tillman combined.

Well, if we had stricter gun control, Sean Taylor wouldn't be dead now.

Go tell me the issue isn't gun control when so many athletes aren't being robbed and killed at gunpoint by people who have no business having guns.

Let's make a separate thread for the gun control debate, and leave this for Sean Taylor stuff.

Gun control is a huge deal. Why else did they make an "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" episode on the topic?

This is a very awful point. I don't think hand guns should exist, Pig, if they're not in the hands of cops.

This is a very awful point. I don't think hand guns should exist, Pig, if they're not in the hands of cops. In America it is illegal to own a gun if you don't have a license to own one. So your telling me that only some of the guy's who shouldn't have guns obtained them illegally. I'm not sure but most people who commit crimes with gun's are already convicted on some charges and in trouble with the law already and cannot get a gun. Bottom line: In America bad guys will always have gun. Stricter gun control would just be taking guns out of the hand's of people who need to use them to protect themselves.

It is rare, however I agree with Pig 100% on pretty much everything he said.
On a side note what happens to soldiers is tragic, many times it is unjust. It is a volunteer military though. This is where I see the difference.
I don't really want to get in a debate though.

how do you guys think the redskins will respond to this? You really don't know. The team is really torn up about this. Taylor was very much loved by the coaches, fellow players and fans. Greg Williams on more than one occasion has said that Taylor is his favorite player ever to coach.

Not to mention the actual impact on the playing field, which I know is the least of concerns at the moment... but he definitely emerged into an elite star this season imo and it pains me to see a life go down in its prime. Things were just getting great for him.
