Yawn. Get this stuff out of my life please. This is probably the biggest negative in the history of baseball. Whether you like it or not were seeing history in the making. This guy could go to jail, and it may lead to none of his statistics counting in the record books. He fucked up big time. he was one of the top 25-50 players of all time before he started taking steroids. Now it doesnt matter, hes just a cheater.

So was a good chunk of the Major Leagues during the same time of Bond's steroid use.

I hate getting shit on Bonds all the time, and it happens a lot being a Giants fan from east. Perjury aside I have a problem with how since Bonds was the best player who used steroids in this time that he is taking all the heat for it. I would want anyone and everyone who was found to use steroids to have the same things taken away as Bonds did. Your striking Bonds from the record book you might as well strike Canseco, McGwire, etc.

Im pretty happy that hes finally off the Giants roster. Steroids has tainted the game, and I must say Selig did a horrible job in trying to stop the whole steroids problem sooner.

His statistics will never be removed from the books. Top 25-50? Prior to steroids he was easily top 5 all time. Without steroids he would have easily become a part of the 600-600 club (HR/SBs) and no one is even near that. He was a good defensive OF till his knee deteriorated to nothing. I am a HUGE Bonds fan. He is definitely top 5 greatest to ever play the game and imo he is # 1.

there is no way he would have been 600 600 but he was a top 20 player before steroids... probably top 10 and possibly top 5
this trial is going to be interesting... but i already hate it becauses its all that has been on espn since 530

the greatest player to ever play, give me a break. He cheated, he deserves whatever he gets. I agree though with pig on what he says but it would never happen for the guys retired at least.

I dont know about top 5 all time, it's hard to compare eras in any sport but especially baseball since it's history is much longer than the other sports. But he was an excellent player before the roids I agree. He actually became a worse overall player after the roids. He could hit the ball further but his defense declined dramatically. I think it's just not the roids that ruined his knees as much as it was putting on 50 lbs of weight and the wear and tear of carrying that everyday.
Personally though, I think from about 1990 to 2003 maybe till now even all records in that period should have an asterick beside them. There's so many players that were using them I think you're gonna just have to penalize them all. Bonds,Sosa,Mcgwire,Canseco admitted it,Palmeiro was caught,Albert Bell,Juan Gonzalez I'd bet did,, and there's more that arent popping in my head right now. As well as pitchers that used also, most notably Clemens, look at Clemens head now and the way it looked in the mid 80's, not to mention he got better as he got older. I mean cmon, I think this whole era should have an asterick.
And they're testing now but I think the teams are tipping guys off to when they are being tested. MLB is still doing it's damndest to hide it. They'll throw a guy under the bus once in awhile to make it look legit but I think there's still a lot of roid/HGH going on.

To be perfectly honest, I hate Barry Bonds. I have never liked him especially in recent years with the way he has handled the media questions and blatantly lying about the steroids. I'm glad that the San Francisco Giants have finally realized we do not need this headache on our team.
