Well, I will say this...
Any RB that can run routes like a WR(which is... Westbrook, Bush, and that's it) is extremely valuable no matter what. So already Bush is a mismatch. He was such a safe pick imo because at very worst he was going to be a matchup nightmare, but his RB ability would adjust over time.
The other thing is that both of those players benefit in a huge way from a power back to compliment them. Sending the receiving back in motion into a WR position is an instant headache for the defense. No linebacker and no safety can can take them, you have to use a CB. So right there you're stuck in a position where you might have to use nickel or dime whenever a Bush or Westbrook is on the field. Any power back will love that of course. Point is though, you have to pick your poison.
I know people will shout BUST! and ALL HYPE! about Bush, but at very minimum he has an awesome and rare effect on defenses. I feel when he progresses and is more comfortable, he'll be elite because he can create separation with or without the ball anywhere on the field. A guy who can run EFFECTIVE deep routes, yet a guy who can run up the middle. He truly is Brian Westbrook except with elite level speed and moves.
His numbers may never be better than LT, but I'd rather have Bush in a heartbeat even right now. I hate to keep making this about Westbrook but these 2 guys have an unbelievably under rated effect and are elite in my eyes.
