To me, religion in itself is pointless, regardless of the religion. Religion is a reason to, make money, or inflate the egos of those in charge. Either way its quite pointless and disturbing on many levels. In all honesty, I agree with this. I personally don't understand how some people can base their entire lives on something that MAY or MAY NOT be true. That's like saying, I'm going to spend my entire life on Mars because there may or may not be aliens there. However, I do respect other people's religious beliefs, and so I just wanted to defend Islam in those posts.

When talking to someone I almost never discuss ethnicity or religion, because neither really matters. There are just so many uncertain parts of every religion. How can you live your life based on something that almost certainly has been edited to suit those before you? I just dont get it. Then again, if it helps you get through the day, and makes your life easier, Im all for that. I just tend to look to my family and friends for that kind of support, not a book.

And if their is a God & an after-life, I would like to think that you would get into heaven because you lived a good, moral life rather then you get in because you say a Hail Mary once a week.

No offense to you rag heads in here, but I cannot stand your religion for one reason. Terrorism breeds in mosques and mosques should not be allowed in any western civilization. When I am allowed to make my fucking Church in the middle east is when Muslims should be allowed to make mosques in my country. I actually agree. Why do we allow muslims to come into here and do what they want, but if a Christian goes into middle east, their life will be at stack. I guess it shows how different these religions are Again not hating on muslims, cuz over half my relatives are, but it is a dangerous religion.

This is true, at least with a handful of people. But if you studied the religion, Islam, you'll realize how sick and twisted it really is. I'm sorry but do you ever see any other religion, go and murder people for leaving the belief? In US, you can be a christian one day, and not the next and no one will care. But if you are a muslim in the middle east and you leave the religion or convert to Christianity, you get killed. What a nice religion (Not hating, just telling it like it is.)

The thing is, Islam has been around longer than Christianity and other religions, yet it was and still is very violent and extreme to this day. Most other religions have moved on from that stage. But Islam never has really.
Question is will the mullahs ever allow it to change?
Now,on different scale scientology is also a very dangerous religion based on the dreams of a madman pretty much. If you have'nt ever read about scientology do it sometime when you're bored. It's scary.

Greg hit it right on the head. It is currently a war of civilizations. Muslims fanatics are still living in the past, decapatating innocent people, blowing themselves up, etc. The majority of the world has moved on, matured, and developed with the times.
I truly believe Muslims need a central authority, similar to the Pope, to help put an end to it.

Thing is alot of religions think old school like Aaron said and need to live in the new age to prosper. There is alot of different sects of there race and religion in Islam that make it very difficult to have one leader.

Both have been responsible for the most deaths due to wars ever in the history of man. Crusades which for the most part are heard of very little in history classes. I guess bcoz of the religious context it would have to include.
