Interesting article in Wall Street journal today. I cant read it as I dont have subsciption but some guys on local radio were talking about it this morning.
Apparently according to article Cuban is an ass. He was doing a bad impersonation of Jerry Jones from what they were saying butting his nose into everything. And get this, he made Nelson pay his own way when scouting guys to draft. Can you believe that? Scouting for his team as GM and Cuban is making him foot the bill. Also still owes Nellie some money and is refusing to pay it and headed to litigation it looks like.
Wow, Cuban's got a bad rap but I didnt know he was that bad. I might have to root for GS just because of him. I've always had a lot of respect for Nellie anyway.

I'm not sure about this article, but Cuban is an alum of my college and he came here a couple of weeks ago when CNBC was filming a tv show here. Cuban was extremely nice, hes extremely charitable, and had a lot of great advice for all of the students who came to see him.
With that being said, he's obviously a hot head in some instances, and my be a bit irrational when it comes to not winning.

i'd be very shocked seeing as how he basically sent nellie to the to an awards show that time didn't he?
also notice the mavs have just about every perk possible in their locker room and stuff.
in every interview i've heard from cuban he comes off as such a genuinely great guy... i'd find it hard to believe but i guess.
anyhow i don't like the mavs cuz of cuban, like em cuz of dirk so i think i won't be jumping ship soon.

i highly doubt all of this as cuban takes care of everyone in the franchise. The mavs have probubly thee best locker room in the nba. When he courts a free agent he flies them all around dallas in a private jet, wine and dines and gets a hooker to 69.

Ya, Cubans story is that Nellie quit on the team, and thats why he didnt pay him. I dont like Cuban because he doesnt own the Warriors. If he owned the Warriors, Id probably like him quite a bit.

Yea, I've never heard anything but that for players he does everything they ask. Does he have a double standard for his coaches though? Guys can be nice to fans and players and still a jerk to their coaches and employees. Wish I could read the article to get better idea of it.

yeah but dude... don nelson was a consultant with the team after he resigned as coach... i mean he was with the team for a year and a half basically before he signed on with golden state.
why would he want to be part of the organization if it treated him so badly and he wasn't even the head coach?

I think mostly he was taking some time off because he was worn out. The "consultant" job wasnt very time consuming. He did a pilot for a sitcom, and did alot of golfing.

Yea, unless Cuban was trying to force Nellie to resign and he would'nt unless he got compensated. Not like situations like that have never happened before and that can create some hard feelings on both ends.
On a side note their lockerroom is unbelievable. I used to be a security guy there part time and they have sections not lockers. It's like each player has a 10 foot by 10 foot section squared off with bricks around it. And they'll have stereo's and stuff all in it. It's something else.
