All else being equal, who would you take #1?

Id take Oden just cause its so hard to find a center like that. Durant may be the better all around guy though.

I read a pretty interesting article by Chad Ford, comparing the two to Jordan/Dream. Obviously Dream was a stud, but Ford brought up an interesting point about passing up one of the all time greats to get a big.
Will Durant ever be close to Jordan, who knows, but comparisons like that make things that much more interesting.
In a way, I wouldn't mind being the number two team and not have to worry about who I take.
Here's a question that's been tossed around at my school; will Noah be a good pro?

and all that being said, I take Oden. Playing with one hand, he's still been dominant.
Durant is going to be special, though.

agreed, oden. centers, especially for a team in the east to draft him, would help significantly.

I do agree that some teams will hope to land at #2 just so they dont have to think about it.
Noah to me could be mediocre. Im just not sure he does anything well enough to excel.

Durant looks like the next KG but better because hes a better ball handler and outside shooter...Oden reminds me alot of Emeka Okafor but with a more polished scoring game...I think both will be real good but if I have the first pick, Ill prolly take Durant because hes a beast.

Oden will be the coming of David Robinson.
So many people have been compared to Jordan, I don't see that in Durant. The closest ones that come close to touching MJ right now are Kobe and LeBron, and I don't see Durant doing anything substantially more spectacular than both Kobe and LeBron have done.
I'd take Oden, he's still young, meaning he can STILL grow, which is insane.
Durant will be an exceptional player. Teams picking 1-5 can't go wrong.
I also think Horford can be an Elton Brand-esque type player...

I would take oden, he is just a beast. But this draft is going to be a fun one to watch IMO just to see where likes of oden and durant and the rest end up.

Oden gets the vote for me, just because good big men are rare... Durant will be a truly unique and special player, but he can't be the next Michael Jordan, he has to be the next Kevin Durant...

All things being equal I'd still take Olajuwon over MJ. Hakeem is one of best centers of all time so it's not like he was a bust. You always take a good big over a good small. The NBA is in a big man drought right now. Shaq is fading, The only real dominant big man is TD. I dont put the other guys at that level. If you get a chance to get a stud big man you better take it. On side note of MJ/Hakeem thing, I think a lot of you guys are too young to appreciate how good Akeem was. He had tremendous quickness for a C and was strong also. Great scorer, rebounder, shotblocker and had great hands. I think he nearly always led Centers in steals and was frequently in top 10 . Jordan did'nt start winning till Pippen and Grant came along. Was'nt like he was a one man team. Hakeem never had another all time great by him in his prime. By the time Barkley and Drexler teamed up with Hakeemn they were both well past their peaks. Think about it, Shaq didnt really become dominant till Hakeem,Ewing,Robinson,Mutombo were well past their peak.

As a Celtic fan, I just hope we land in the top 2. We'd be thrilled with either one. Though I think Oden would be a better fit here considering current personnel. If we got Durant at #2, I'm sure we could make room for him.

I would have to take Oden but either him or Durant will be great players and i think Durant will have a better rookie year than Oden but after a few years Oden will become one of the most dominating players in the league.
