I've read a lot about this kid, watched some video, but still want to know more. You seem to know your Spanish sports, what's the deal with Ricky Rubio? For everyone who hasn't heard of him, people call him the second coming of Pistol Pete. Has been playing at the highest level with DKV in the Euroleague. He's done well against some of the top competition (Maccabi, Will Bynum) and the kid is still a pup. This is on the link below, but I still can't believe this.... Won the MVP Award at the 2006 U16 European Championships after arguably the most dominant performance in tournament history, leading the competition in points, rebounds, assists and steals. Scored 51 points, grabbed 24 rebounds and dished out 12 assists in the 110-106 finale victory over Russia www.nbadraft.net/admincp/profiles/rickyrubio.html

I watched a game this summer where playing for the Under-18 Spanish National team he had a triple double... had something ridiculous like 50 points 20 rebounds and 18 assists.
Potential wise, he's up there with LeBron James. This kid is DOMINANT for his age group. Honestly, I've never seen a European player with as much hype as this kid. He's only I believe 16 years old. All his "weaknesses" argueably can be improved with practice and time. He has time to grow and put on weight, considering he's already 6'4 and his natural position is a PG, this kid can be a 6'6 unguardable PG a-la Shaun Livingston.
In my opinion, if this kid stays on track. Develops the way he's supposed to develop. We indeed have the next Pete Maravich on our hands. I'd like to see him play for the "Senior" Spain National team, as well as get more playing time in the ACB. These next two-three years will tell if this kid is really going to be special or not. From what I've seen, heard, LeBron James ain't go nothing on him.

it's unreal that he's already on the senior club team, and actually doing well.
the next few years, like you said, will really tell a ton about him. i'm looking forward to watching this kid mature and start getting more publicity.

his downfall is going to be whether or not he can keep his ego and check. In all honesty, I think the kid is a complete showoff, albeit he can be playing at kids his age, but if he comes into the NBA with an attitude a-la Isiah Rider or Harold Miner... he's going to end up just like them two.
