This would be implemented either next year or the year after.
Spencer and I have been talking about ways to reward teams who try to win, instead of those who tank when they know they can't be a threat to win it all. The reason I came up with this, is because we want BBS to be as realistic as possible. Usually in the NBA, there are 4 or 5 teams in the begining of the season who are considered to have a shot at winning the title. The other 25 or so teams however don't trade away all their players for picks in hopes of gaining a top spot in the draft. Teams have to win in order to make a profit, keep fans, etc.
Here are some proposed ideas to reward teams who try to win:
1. Raise the amount of RC points that we get for making the playoffs. 2. Consecutive seasons in the playoffs result in more reward points per season. 3. Each playoff round won results in more RC points. 4. Maybe we can develop a system, where you can trade in RCs. Some things you could purchase are cap relief, draft picks in between the 1st and 2nd rounds (sandwich picks), or priorities of signing the free agents after free agency is over. 5. Rollover RCs, so there can be more trades made involving them.
Any thoughts?

makes it a lot more complicated...I'd like to think there are simpler ways of promoting competition.

Love this idea. Winning definitely isnt a big enough priority, especially consistently winning. Something I just thought of....
5 consecutive years in the playoffs gives you an extra RC. Every year after the 5 you get another RC. So 6 gets you 2, 7 gets you 3 etc.
Obviously wed need to start rollovers.
Maybe consecutive 50 win seasons will raise the amount of Cs you can spend on players, or allow you to RC guys over 25.

makes it a lot more complicated...I'd like to think there are simpler ways of promoting competition. It would be written in a clear way that would be understood. And like everything else the repetition of doing it would ingrain it in you eventually.

Any guy who is over 25 can only be RCd once? Maybe. Or maybe more. I want to give teams options that make winning consistently the thing to do. Obviously it makes the stronger teams stronger, but thats usually what happens in any real sport.

Yeah, I've got no problem with these ideas, assuming it's not too much trouble for someone to track.

this whole concept in general is pretty awsome, if i think of anything i'll post.
maybe we could lower the value of playoff RCs though? i kind of shudder to think of the "splitting" the league may endure if infact this turns into a "rich gets richer, poor gets poorer" type of thing, even with the rewarding of winning. also there's the issue of the player ratings becomming stacked. i just want to point this out so we're cautious of the facts.

and by lowering the value i mean.. a 2 or 3 point upgrade rather than 5.

yeah i think so ^, this is a really good idea.
so like after say 7 years of in the playoffs you can get an option of a pick, rc or like cap relief? something like that

Sounds good. Just gotta make sure it's not too complicated for guys to keep track off but other than that definitely something that should be implemented.

Sounds nice but of course after I dont want to win this will start. The extra RC's you guys are talking about can they be used on players who have had 3 RCs already.

How about where Salary Cap penalties will not affect you if your win rating is high enough?

That would be cool Spence, makes sence since winning teams normally make more money.
