Pistons trade: Darko Marco Petteri
LAC trades: Baron 2014 First Clipps 2 upgrades
It's been a while. I haven't made a trade or been into the league as much as I once was. I'm hoping to change that, and get back to my winning ways. This is a start. I finally have the legit number one option I have been looking for since I lost Shaq.
Now with Paul/Baron/Artest/Meka/Bynum, I can run a very fast pace and utilize both Paul and Baron's ability to handle the ball. I also gain almost 3 steals a game, so my defense won't suffer.
Losing Marco and Petteri doesn't hurt much, since I have two legit point guards and Stuckey as my primary backup 2. Losing Darko sucks, but I am close to the hard cap, so I need to rid myself of a big contract and start concentrating on getting some expirings in the upcoming years. Baron fulfills this.
Nice easy deal, thanks Galo.

Wowzas, big deal. Like it for both, should be interesting to see how the new-look Pistons do.

Baron at SG is so nasty I think. As a first option non-PG he should score 30.

When I made the trade, I felt like my deal for Baron was the worst I'd ever made. It wasn't, but I'm pretty sure trading Baron was the best move I've made.

Has nothing to do with Baron as a player, just saying.

Seems like Baron has a stigma of not being able to win, when in fact I won a championship with him and Wade and the right combination.
Baron probably needs to be in an outside offense as 1 or 2 option. I think Paul Artest and Baron will be pretty sick, especially if Aaron runs an outside offense.

I was confused by your posts, but I re-read them and it makes more sense this time.

It wasn't bad for either imo. Yeah. It wasn't a bad deal, but I immediately regretted it. It came the first time anyone mentioned my name with the contract year, and I felt like I had to show I could win. Left me with awful contracts and no future, so I decided to move Baron. I can't regret dealing Aldridge and Thabo because that deal ended up getting me Maxiell, Hinrich, Curry and BG indirectly, but it would've been nice to hold onto those two.

confirmed. I hate to deal Baron but he just turned 30 and had only 1 year left on his deal after this. I had to get young value for him while I can and I think this deal does that. Petteri and Belinelli should be nice guards for us in our rebuilding efforts and I think Darko can be a franchise type forward for our team. This definitely does not end our efforts to get better but its a start. thanks for the deal Aaron.

Getting superstars is a pretty important thing in BBS...specially in the east. And Thabo and Aldridge look a little better than they really are. But ya I hear you man.. just glad it eventually worked out for you.

I would love to see the Pistons deal Paul for a superstar SG/SF (not saying that because Kobes on the block). If they could play Baron at the 1 and add another superstar through Paul they will be championship favourites. I think Detroit get the better end of the deal here, I’m not sure why the Clippers add in a first and 2 upgrades because they didn’t need to.
