Hornets Trade: David Lee Trevor Ariza Melvin Levett Jamon Gordon Vet FA 2 RC's by 2012
Cavaliers Trade: Leandro Barbosa David West
I like Lee & Ariza, and Levett's a solid player, but I get my PG and fill my biggest need. This deal does hurt me depth-wise, but getting a legit PG was necessary if I wanted to hit the 40-win mark, and I definitely think Barbosa is a PG who can lead me to 40 wins.

Confirm.
I really, really hate to trade Barbosa, but I wasn't winning with what I had and I needed to do something. Barbosa was a very efficient PG, but I feel like I get a more rounded team with Ariza or Lee moving to SF and the other being a multi-position backup. This also opens up the door to trade either Varejao or KMart if I so choose.

Really want to see how this plays out since I have that Cavs pick.

not sure why Scott does this...Barbosa is still a top 5-10 PG in the league and West is very underrated...nice deal for Nova...hopefully the Cavs get value for their other players

West has been declining for the past couple TCs and was seeing little PT for me anyways. Barbosa was giving me solid numbers on offense, but he was sort of disappointing me with his steals the past 3 seasons or so. Plus I've been very weak at SF ever since I lost Gordon and had to re-tool my lineup. I definitely think that Ariza gives me a lot of versatility at SF.

Love this deal for NO. If Lee were 3-4 years younger though, I think it would have went in favor of the Cavs.

If Nova does want to to Stack in the deal and then trade him back afterwards, I'm cool with that. Just post so Nova and it's fine.

Yeah, just do Stackhouse for now, and we'll trade him back after FA.
