Dallas sends
SF-Ariza SF-C.Smith NO 09 1st
to NO for
PG-Smush
I desperately need a good PG, and Smush is that. Good thing he has a house in No and Dallas now.
Thx and GL to the Hornets

Hornets Accept. Smush has gone from NO to Dallas to NO to Dallas again. This team isn't clicking to say the least, and Smush is older then most of my other key players. Hopefully I can land a top 5 pick and add another nice young player to the fold, and Ariza's a decent enough player to bring back.

Really hope you can get your act together with this trade, Nova, but I don't think a good PG is coming your way with your pick.
Smush definitely wasn't the problem in NOH. You bring back a guy on a terrible deal and haven't done anything to boost your frontcourt. Lee and Nene flat out are not starters, and Smush is a PG you could win a title with. Think this sets you back a lot. With Ibaka/Arthur coming up, I definitely think you should've held onto Smush and gotten value out of Lee.

This is awesome.
Dan owes me a pick in 2010 that is equal to or better than the NO 09. Tank, tank, tank Nova.

I know Smush wasn't the problem with my team, but he was a good deal older then most of my other core players, and this team wasn't going to win enough this or next year to warrant keeping him, and by the time I would legitimately compete, Smush would be 29 or 30. As for Lee & Nene, I definitely agree with you on Nene, but Lee is not as bad as your making him out to be. Plus, it's not as if I'm done dealing...getting my pick back gives me a LOT more flexibility trade-wise.

I'd just be weary of already planning to not win that much next season. You'd put yourself in a must-win situation.

I never said I don't plan on winning next year. However, I still feel that with the core I have and with some moves I plan on making this offseason, that I can definitely improve my team enough to win at the very least, close to 40 games.

Next year is my contract year, and I am fully aware of that.
It's not as if my current team was playing well, and getting my pick back, which looks it will probably land top 5 at this point, gives me a lot more to work with in terms of trading flexibility.
I'm not sure if I'll hit 40 wins next year, but I'll be trying my best, and if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. I took over a BRUTAL situation, I knew it wouldn't be a quick rebuild, I never planned it to be. I signed some players in FA, dealt two of them off for more youth/picks(Nene is the only one which I regret), added a good bit of talent via trades, drafted a couple nice players, and have a very nice young core to build around now.
All I'm saying is, look at my team...this current team probably wouldn't win 40 games next year anyway, I put Smush on the block several days ago and got ZERO interest from anyone else, why not get my own pick back, add another young player, and go from there & make trades as I see fit.
