First part, to be processed after draft:
Maxiell for Dal 09* Jason Smith
THEN: Rajon Rondo for two vet FAs (we will re-post this part after TC, we just wanted to get in writing)
*I get all the rights the 09 brings. That means the stipulation with the Denver pick comes with it--if Dallas is top 8, I get Denver's pick this year and next.
Good dealing, Greg. I need to revamp on the run because of all my big contracts, and I don't see much opportunity to get anything back for Redd or BG. Ultimately I decided Curry stays over Maxiell, and with two lottos, I'm able to add good pieces despite my terrible cap position.

Dallas agrees,
Probably gonna lose a good pick but I'm trying to position myself to win next yr. I think a Dally,Max,Okur at SF lineup is pretty nice. Now working on getting a good scoring PG or SG. Have a couple deals out there in progress to do just that.
Thx and GL to the Magic

gotta say i like this much more for the magic... maxiell and rondo for a potential top pick? i know maxiell blocks shots like a beast, but i can't see him keeping this up for the next 5 years.

I like Maxiell alot. Rondo is solid. Mavs just need to pick a direction and go with it, they seem to go back and forth. Greg, you seem to hate to lose, which is fine, but maybe youd be better off not trading for your pick anymore....

I just cant resist trading for talent instead of waiting on picks when the opportunity presents itself

Just something to keep an eye on. No reason not to try and compete every year. its a good thing.

By the way, so that salaries work, Greg will make the selection for me, then trade the player along with Jason Smith for Maxiell.

can't sign min FAs now, greg. how about one of your second rounders? If you let me pick and trade them back to me for a FA later that'd be fine. Kinda wanted those to fill out my roster.

OK, we both agree to amend this deal.
Instead of 2 vet FA's after TC just send
SF-Chandler to Magic for Rondo.
Thx
