Pistons trade: AV Alvin Williams
Cavs trade: Gerald Wallace Lonny Baxter Cavs 2009 pick 2 upgrades
I have a ton of bigs and no real backup at the 2/3. Wallace fits exactly what I want, a defensive stud who can play many positions, and has a very nice contract.
I was worried about AV's contract this offseason, and with many young guys coming up for extensions in the near future, I can afford to give big deals to a very good big, when I have some potential stars.
Plus I'm trying to start stockpiling picks and upgrades. This trade gives me both.
Nice dealing, good luck.

Agreed. I know it's a risk to take on AV's expiring rookie contract, but I feel like I get a much better team this year and moving forward with this deal. Wallace hadn't been playing much for me since I moved West to starting SF. Penny does a great job backing up the 1, 2, and 3 so I won't lose a whole lot there.
I've been looking to get Varejao for a long time, ever since he was on the Heat a while ago. Him, Lafrentz, and KMart will be a big combo up front to score and rebound. Don't deal too much with ya Aaron, but it's always easy and fun.

Plus I hate AV in real life, so I have been wanting to get rid of him for a long time, haha.
