Pistons Trade
TJ Ford Luis Scola
Wizards Trade
Alvin Williams Wizards 2007 1st
Wiz agree. TJ is a very good young PG. I hope my team can bounce back and make that pick not so good.

definitely a better deal for the wiz, but i just wanted to get a good first for this draft, since i already have paul. ford is only a backup, and i wasn't giving him big money anyway, so it works out for both of us.
AV/CV still available for firsts in this upcoming draft, ante up!
thanks Jah

Clueless as to why the Wizards give up their 07 first here...

Yeah, I disagree with it. Even if Ford puts them in the playoffs, their a 1 & Done team...and they could lose Ford in FA...

I think Wiz get great value for their pick. Ford is > anyone they would have gotten with that pick I think they will fall short of playoffs and Aaron gets a rookie contract as it would have been a lot harder for him to sign ford. Lets not forget about the fact TJ might offer the wiz a last chance offer

i think it's "valid" to trade for bird rights on a player. the only risk is that the player could be maxed but i don't see a problem with it personally. i agree with krup about the other stuff.

Talent wise its a great deal, I just don't agree with you trying to win this year. I don't think you have enough to compete and I would have torn it up and drafted in the top 5.

Isn't it kinda late to tear down and draft in the top 5 though? Already past the all star break and there are like 10 teams with a worse record than the Wiz. And Ford isn't going to make them worse.

Yes, but he's also expiring, and your also an aging team. I would have dealt all your vets for expirings+youth/picks. You would have had a top 5 pick and some solid youth to build around. Your team is aging and is not a contender, and won't be anytime soon. Instead, your likely going to have to max Ford this offseason in addition to resigning your own players which takes away any possible cap room, and then you'll be a treadmill team for several seasons to come.

Not really. If he had dealt PP, Walker, Kandi, Battie within the next few days, he could pretty easily have gotten a top 5 or top 6 pick.

Fair enough. I just don't think it makes sense given the make-up of the rest of your team. We'll see though, I might be wrong.

If Ford was old I'd agree with you, however he's 23.

Ford essentially >= Jah's draft pick this season. He just pays more for his salary which obviously isn't a concern for Jah

I realize that, and I like him a lot, but the rest of your team is old and I just don't really understand the move.

What part is confusing? You saying I should of signed a 30 year old PG to go with the rest of my team?

If he plans on rebuilding in the offseason, he should have just kept the pick an started now. If he plans on trying to compete, again, I don't see him being a contender anytime soon, aside from Ford he's aging and the Knicks, Bulls, & Raps are just worlds ahead of him right now.

What part is confusing? You saying I should of signed a 30 year old PG to go with the rest of my team? It looked like you were going to rebuild, which IMO, would have been the smarter move. Deal off Pierce, Walker, Battie, Kandi for expirings + 1sts/youth, get a top 5/6 pick this year, try & sign some good young players in FA this offseason. It just seems pointless to get a 23 year old PG to go with 30-somethings in the rest of your lineup. He doesn't make you a contender and he's likelygoing to eat up 1/4 of any potential cap room you would have had.

If someone maxes Ford they are stupid..lol. He is a good player...not even close to a full max player.
