Suns trade: Nick Van Exel Michael Ruffin
Mavs trade: Theo Ratliff
it was a quick stop here for Van Exel, but I've got bigger needs, Ratliff gives me a presence defensively that I think will really help a lot, despite his mediocre rebounding.

Mavs agree, need to address the PG situation and this is an upgrade over what I have.
Thx and GL to the Suns

great trade for the Suns I think. Ratliff is still a pretty serviceable starting center. Van Exel is still a pretty good PG but a liability on defense and not much of an impact as other PGs.

Well, Ratliff just hasnt been as intimidating this year. NVE isnt great but my PG play has been killing me since I moved Brandon. Battie can play C now so I'm ok with it.

True that. Lets face it though. Ratliff this year has been a pretty good shotblocker but thats about all he's bringing to the table. Not even shooting .400 and a mediocre rebounder. If his shotblocking skills are declining I cant see paying him 6 mil a year for that. Thats the bottom line.
