bidding ends at time X....there is a thread for each player and you post your bid...you can up or withdraw your bid at anytime before time X. It turns out to be a nasty bidding war and overpriced salaries

Private.
I used to just one-up the best offer at like the last possible minute, and it worked almost everytime. Private keeps it fair, salaries reasonable, and are able to laugh at the idiots who are paying more than what X player deserves.

Private. As karma would have it, Galo should be me tonight because of public bidding. I once offered Derrick Rose as 7 year max with four mil in cap space, for a deal totaling less than 40 million. He countered with a 7 year max totaling over 200 million

You were part of that honest to goodness, i hardly even went to the forum in those days and i never bid on anyone because all my teams were over cap all the time lol... i had no idea xbl used public bidding.

I must have just written in full max. His offer was mine verbatim, so that was probably it. That has a lot to do with what I was saying though.
